Had to practically beg to get our name on the waiting list. We walked in to a lobby area that had no organization. A young lady walking around asking if someone here or here was waiting to be seated. She passed by us at least twice and then just stood at the edge of the checkout counter. So I approached her to ask to put our names on the waiting list. We had two couples before us that were seated with in 10 minutes of being there. We waited 45 minutes, watching at least 13 groups of 2-5 be seated. People who all came in after us. So I decide to ask how much longer before our group of 6 would be seated. I'm told that it'll be at least another 25 minutes then the lady behind the register says that we're next. So I see a table open up that just had 5 adults sitting at it. My husband was ready to go at this point but we waited to see if we were chosen, we weren't seated. Two people were. I told the young lady to take our name off the list. Even another customer said that he had had came in after us, while he was standing in the line to checkout after already sitting down to eat. Read moreWe had our first visit to Small Town Kitchen in Cherryville on Sunday. The turkey and dressing was absolutely AMAZING!!! The turkey was juicy and super tender and the dressing was so flavorful. The gravy was perfect - not too salty and not too thick. Your meal comes with 2 sides. I got the yams and fried squash and my husband had greens and mac and cheese. All of our sides were delicious. We had excellent service. We did have a 30 minute wait at 11:00, but this was mostly due to Covid/50% capacity seating. The interior is very nicely decorated and super clean! We got to meet the owner's daughter. She was extremely nice and told us all about her family moving here to establish the restaurant. We will most definitely be back. Read moreMy sister once a week orders food for our family and we get together for a nice meal together. We have been loyal customers of Small Town Kitchen since they have been open. Tonight when she got home with our food two out of four orders was wrong. When I called the restaurant to let them know I was not satisfied with their response. I feel it is their responsibility to not only make this right but also, it should be on them to do something in order to make good on their mistake. I understand these things happen but how is the customer being compensated when it’s their family meal being disrupted and it’s their gas and time wasted having to go back to the restaurant with the plate they got wrong and wait for them to cook another one.
