Andy Boys Pizza — Restaurant in Chesapeake

We've been eating here at least once a week for years, usually even more. Unfortunately, the new owner told us today that he does not offer crackers anymore for two reasons. First, he said that they would go stale. That is an issue that could easily be solved with good inventory management. Just buy smaller quantities, even if it meant you run out every once in a while. At least you'd have them in sock most of the time. Secondly, he said he had been giving crackers away for free and that he couldn't afford to do that anymore. Silly me! I thought all these years I had paid for the crackers in the cost of the salad. Guess I was wrong. I very frequently went there solely to get a chef's salad but, since I only like a salad with crackers, that removes a reason for me to go there. I guess I'll have to find a new place for chef's salads.

I strongly urge the new owners to not be so tight that he drives away business. With the savings on crackers, he loses the sale of a $10 chef's salad along with any drink sale that goes with it. If he really can't afford to offer crackers for free, perhaps he should consider offering them for a small upcharge. Of course some people might consider that to be petty.

Another issue I found is that they no longer offer any non-sugar sweetener. I always got their unsweetened tea and added the pink sweetener. So, today I had to get Diet Coke instead. I had assumed here too that I had been paying for the pink sweetener in the cost of the tea but I guess I was wrong there too. Mike did tell me at the end that they would get some pink sweetener in.

I'll end with something positive. They do have wonderful pizza and I recommend it to anyone who wants...

We ordered takeout from Andy Boys last Tuesday night (11/7) and when we arrived to pick up our food, plain as day, a HUGE RAT was hanging straight ahead in the kitchen prep area!!!! It fell down and then began running back and forth on the upper shelves in the kitchen! We were horrified! We notified the cashier who went to get our food and then watched as she told the cook who seemed to just shrug it off. We had ordered and pre paid for our food on Slice and took it and left but in hindsight we should have demanded a refund because we were sooooo disgusted we could not eat our food nor we will be eating there again! I notified Slice of the issue and was told they would look into the issue and follow-up with me and I have yet to hear back. I have also looked into how to notify the Health Department which is a bit more tricky for some crazy reason. Either way, please beware all!!! I truly hate this situation because we really loved their food and ate there often but certainly can’t and won’t with a rat issue and especially if once told they just dismiss and shrug it off…...

First time trying Andy boys last night. I didn’t really care the pizza. The crust was kinda hard and didn’t have any flavor. They messed up our order by giving us a Greek salad instead of chicken strips but their customer service was amazing and they were willing and did fix it right away. The only bad thing was because we had to drive to get it so we drove about 10 minutes home got the food out seen it was wrong. Drove 10 minutes back to pick up the correct stuff and then 10 minutes back home so by the time we did that our pizzas were Cold so didn’t get to enjoy the hot pizza but the Greek salad was amazing. I didn’t dine in but the decor looks outdated. It looks like a 1980’s drs office. So I wouldn’t dine in due to the atmosphere, and wouldn’t I personally go back for the food but I wouldn’t be opposed to getting food from there if others wanted to.
