Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Chesapeake

Went to Applebee's tonight and as we walk in there didn't nobody greet us and also we was standing up there for a minute so I seen my brother in there went over there to talk to him his server seen us and didn't say anything so I told my husband to go back to the front so we can get a table so he did we sat down 10 minutes went by nobody ask us anything they kept walking pass us imagine you that it won't busy in there so five minutes later out server came over and I told him about it he gonna say I seen y'all but I didn't know y'all was going to sit there so I just say ok whatever we order our drinks he brung our drinks to us he ask are you ready to order I give y'all some more time to look over the menu so when he came back we order the two for 30 we got the boneless wings for the appetizer so five minutes later he brought out the appetizer and two plates I taste one of the wings and it was nasty so I look at the plates why both plates was dirty now you the server and you didn't see them plates dirty of course not he put the paper napkins over it so he won't see it we still waiting for our server to come back over to check up on us no he didn't come back until I call him over there I told him the wings was nasty they taste old and the plates dirty he ask did I want to try something else no and I told him don't worry about the food I don't want it so he went and got a manager I told the manager that he can cancel my food and that our plates was dirty and wings taste like they was old and they was dry looking and the manager took care of it than our server come back to the table and ask do we want some drinks to go no we good and we left worst services I had ever had I don't think I would eat at that...

If I could give negative stars, I would. This was a terrible experience all around and we will not be back. Instead of being greeted politely by a server, we were greeted by "are they yours or mine?" The place was deserted... at the time, it was just us and 1 other table. My partner never got a refill. I got one, but waited forever for it and needed another, but never got it. It's not even like we could flag her down either, because she was no where to be found 90% of the visit. We couldn't ask anyone else either because well, they were no where to be found too or helping the other guests when they made an appearance. Our soups that we asked to come out before the meal were brought with the meal and were not even filled halfway in the bowl. My partner ordered a classic cheeseburger, and the pictures I provided are his sorry excuse for a burger. I also included a picture for what they advertise as their classic cheeseburger. Pictures don't even do it justice.... a value menu cheeseburger from McDonalds is bigger than this. In my case, I asked for BBQ sauce twice and was never brought BBQ sauce and my chicken was overcooked. My partner ordered dessert, and the waitress pretty much slammed the dish on the table in front of him and walked away. We were nothing but kind to her so I'm not sure what prompted this. Now came check time. My partner and I waited about 30 minutes after we finished our food to get our check...drink glasses still empty. Then it took 30 minutes for our waitress to return to take our credit card. This place wasted our time and didn't value our business. We will not be back, even if offered an incentive...

This was the only Applebies out of the last 3 I went to that was good. I am a pretty understanding guy but the one on Military Hgwy in Norfolk was horrible two times in a row. Which shocked me because when I lived in Norfolk it was good. The service was horrible and the food was ehhh..There was one more we went to but not sure which one but that was bad also. It was in Va Beach somewhere. The hot wing buffalo sauce was nasty. It tasted bad. Like there was something wrong with it. I just threw it away. I dont complain about food and expect more. Who knows what could be done to it. But that is anywhere. Not saying Applebies does that. But an employee anywhere can have a bad day and take it out on your food if they want. Then went back to the one on Military hgwy again. Figured it had been over a year and my daughter wanted to go so I said lets try it. The waiter was nice but was really bad as a waiter. I mean really bad. No refills. Forgot to bring us most of our food order. Kept dealing with another table that were complete jerks who complained about everything " trying to get free food" but we were much more accommodating and he ignored us. Not on purpose I think. Just overwhelmed. And we still tipped way more than the 5 dollars they did and were very vocal about how he was lucky to get that for 5 people they had to our 4. Will never go back to that one. This one on Battlefield I would definetly go back to. Excellent service and pretty good wing sauce for the price. I prefer Outback or Texas Roadhouse but this Applebies will definetly still get...
