I'm really trying to be more selective with my 5 stars but gosh darn it, I couldn't find a single reason not to.
A Saturday night found us feeling lazy and wanting something new. While we have dined at Baba's many times I went with the supremo calzone and a house salad. I normally order the supremo pizza steak (PHENOMENAL) but I wasn't in the mood for it. A call for take out brought a little hiccup; their system was down and it was a cash only night. Could have been an issue most every other day (we rarely carry cash) but the man was already out and quickly swung by the bank for cash.
My calzone was chock full of meats, cheese and veggies and while it was delicious, the real winners on my plate was the house salad (lots of mushrooms, onions, olives and cheese). Typically a house salad has one veggie each but that was not the case here. I chose a creamy Italian. It was not only creamy but so good I could have had it as a drink!
Now, the cheese garlic knots were the belle of the ball. I ordered them for the man and had no intention of eating one but they just looked irresistible (who am I to argue) so when I bit into one and that cheesy skirt crunched, I thought, wow. This is how the gods dine. So much garlic, so much cheese! It really would have been understandable if the bread was slightly undercooked with all that cheese but it was perfectly baked and simply divine. The man left me one for a snack and 3 hours after dining I devoured the other one. And you know what, that cheesr skirt was still crunchy and perfection.
Next time I'm going with the house salad and cheesy garlic knots!!!
Ps, their pizzas are super...
Read moreWe went in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. It’s a small restaurant, looks like they may be renovating or repainting inside. The hostess was nice, told us to choose any booth we wanted, there was no wait and too busy.
My husband ordered pizza and I ordered BBQ chicken cheesesteak. The sandwich did not come with a side- an order of fries was $7, which seems a bit steep.
The pizza was good, nice thin crust and not overcooked. I didn’t care for their BBQ sauce and didn’t finish the sandwich.
The fries did not have any seasoning on them, not event salt. It was a large portion, which was too much as a side with a sandwich.
We noticed a sign stating there was a 3% surcharge if using credit cards, as well as a tip bucket for the hostess. This is a small, casual diner and we basically seated ourselves; a hostess tip bucket seemed inappropriate. We prefer to dine at restaurants that do not charge a surcharge for credit cards. Credit card fees are a part of doing business these days- they could probably charge a little more and make up their fees that way, but the food prices here were already above average.
Overall, we might try this place again, but probably only stick...

Really good crust, cheese tasted a average , the pizza was a bit burnt and the sauce was good. Decided to get their donuts which were good. We also got mozzarella sticks they tasted frozen and their marinara was as liquid as water with zero flavor. Skip the mozzarella sticks.
Their service was average, took 3 phone calls for them to answer otherwise you’ll get a confusing voicemail. They’re working on website and for some reason they dont use food delivery services, they use their own drivers. The whole experience feels like living in 1999.
Delivery took an hour and fifteen minutes which they disclosed when placing order (which was impressive how accurate they were).
Not sure if we’ll order...
