My boyfriend and I decided to do take out at Dennys, when we arrived we were not greeted at all. There was absolutely no customers in the building, so we walked to the pick up counter where my boyfriend saw the waitress sitting down at a table far away. He kindly told her we were here for a pick up order, all the waitress did was point at a bag on the counter. He was confused but decided to grab the bag and made sure his name was on it. (Our mistake for not checking our items to make sure it was all there BUT it was all checked off with a pen) As we got home, I noticed we were missing 2 of our items. We did not have our berry waffles or our side of hashbrowns with cheese. His burger tasted freezer burnt, my bacon and sausage also tasted freezer burnt. My thing is, if there was ONE waitress with NO customers at all and you must have put our items into a bag…. Why did she check off every single item stating it was there? Why wouldn’t she get up and tell us we are missing two items and need a refund if they were out of stock?? (Berry waffles were out of stock, after we called and talked to her). Like? Why be lazy and let us leave KNOWING the store did not have the berry waffles and we would need a refund. My boyfriend called the store to complain and all she said was to come back in so we can get the hashbrowns and a refund of the waffles since it wasn’t available….. why didn’t you do that in the first place when you bagged and checked off all our items?????? We decided not to go back up there since we are 20 minutes away and didn’t want to waste more time in that ridiculous building. I’m giving two stars because the nachos and filled French toast were amazing. Wasted 14$ on items we didn’t get, which we are fine with that since it’s just money. But we are just really annoyed with the service since the store was completely empty and they had plenty of time to...
Read moreFor the love of God, please put this “restaurant” out of its misery. Throw in the towel. Euthenize it. From sticky tables to appalling smells to a balmy, hot dining room, the service and the food are actually worse the environment. First experience- 3 years ago, just after Covid- I justified it as reopening jitters. 2nd time- last year- nothing atrocious but farrrr from acceptable, but again, I figured it was an off day. Gave it one more shot this week. Bad idea. From 3 out of 4 orders being incorrect- one having already been replaced bc “the chips are frozen”- to missing items, a sopping wet salad to which we were given no dressing, drinks with mystery floaters, poor service, to enduring a full hour to get in and out. Did I mention we were the ONLY customers there? At Dennys, at 6:30 on a Sunday evening. The only table from the moment we walked in til we left. 2 waitresses, a “cook” (I use that term very loosely), and a manager. But yet, with us only being a party of 3 adults and 2 toddlers, they turned away the ONLY to-go customer who came in for being “short staffed”. When I mentioned this issues with the food, no apology, just excuses. “We don’t put butter on the pancakes unless they’re plain”. They were plain pancakes, save some soggy strawberries on top. “That’s how we make the omelettes”. They were quite literally egg tacos- fried egg with a pile of chopped meat on top of unmelted Kraft singles (wrong, even on the remake). No refills. Never got my toast. Hashbrowns cooked wrong. We got 2 meals removed, but honestly, it took A LOT for me not to walk out. I’ve waitressed and catered and bartender for yearssss, and I’ve never had such an absurd dining experience. Seriously, please throw in the towel, Dennys. Or is it...
Read moreWe stopped here for quick breakfast but it was far from quick. Stopped in around 11 am after checking out of hotel and left at 12:40. Not many people in the restaurant. Took forever to get food. Salt and pepper shakers wouldnt work but waitress found new ones after trying several more. Scrambled eggs arrived with cheese and had to be sent back. Waitress took plate with eggs along with my hash browns but only brought back eggs. Hash browns were hardly cooked so I guess I didn't need to finish them. Crepe cream was made with reddiwhip which didn't match the picture of thick creme in the menu. Tasted ok, just didn't like the consistency. Bacon was super thin, so you'd be better off ordering the sausage which tasted good. I'm told the pancakes and waffles were good. Fries had pepper on them that my son tried to pick off. Nobody cared for the bacon out of all four of us. A turn off was the three ants we killed off the table at three different times plus the syrup residue left on the table. My husband joked that the ants were after the syrup. He has a bad memory of a Denny's while he was a kid and this experience did not help erase bad memories. They at first tried to charge $1.29 for cheese added to eggs that I didn't order so that was a waitress mistake, not the cook. She should have taken that off the bill before giving it to me. 12% tax too but they can't help that but they tried to charge an 18% tip that included that 12% tax in the total at the register. I adjusted down due to the poor service but left just over 15% which was more than fair for the service we received. So $75 for breakfast for 4. We won't be returning to a Denny's anytime soon but we don't have one in our...
