Joke food!! I would highly recommend this establishment for deli style foods and deserts if you hate yourself. The good: Their baked potatoes are really awesome with many methods of toppings, always a delight. The good stuff stops there.
The bad: The Ruben is half a*s with no complaint other than they advertise a 1/2 lb. of corned beef and in reality it's a 1/2 lb. joke. That said, however, if you like saurkraut, no disappointment...they save on meat and think we cannot tell the difference?!?!?!
Prices are on the high side ($10.00 for a Ruben when $7.00 the norm) and the potatoes, albeit large, at $8.00 starting, a little on the heavy side of price. Wait staff good, not great. I say this due to it was not overly crowded and I placed my order to pick up and was told 10-15 minutes...I got there 25 minutes later and still waited 10 minutes placing them in category of being a little/moderately slow. (Order ahead and take your time) Pickles served in a little plastic/sealed baggie. Kind of like picking up a turd whereas most places take a dill pickle out of a container and serve, these are factory prepped. (And the package leaks!!??)
Again, food good and pricey. Wait staff decent. Slow on delivering "goods". Would recommend but not more than once a month. (Even if starving) The Worse: Okay. So tonight, (Dec. 23, 2016) I went back and got 2 potatoes. NO! No Ruben...I did make manifest my dislike of being subjected to the WORST Ruben ever to the night time manager. She was nice, but the complaint will stop there...I'm betting on that anyways. I did let her know that if the store manager calls me, I'll be nicer...otherwise, enjoy the negative impact. She did offer a replacement...sorry..I'm don't complain to get freebies. I complain to spare others. The End: Went back again (week ending Jan 6, 2017) and the young lady that was there previously remembered me. I was there only for potatoes, again, no sandwiches, I've learned that already. I made call, got there (again much later than directed and again, had to wait additional 7-10 minutes) and she brings up that they could never find my number. Really? Okay. I wrote my name and number down and again, no call from anyone. The irony is that I said nothing and she brings it up. Either the manager is lackadaisical in her (this young lady said "she" when talking about store manager) job or this wanna-be "manager" (the young lady) has a major problem with follow-through. I had a request from family last Friday (week ending 13th Jan. 2017) to go there for potatoes. My response, "nope, we're done there."
Either way about it, I'm pretty sure I can find some other establishment that sells Idaho potatoes. Not like Jason's Deli has something so unusual going on. NO LONGER RECOMMENDING THIS PLACE...
Read moreThis afternoon we visited Jason’s Deli in Chesapeake Virginia. If I could give this location no stars I would. We had ordered our food along with waters. I had asked for a lemon wedge for my water. The sales lady brought us our food and gave me a “quarter” of a lemon wedge so tiny I was shocked. Then she left. We realized we weren’t given utensils for our food. I walked to the front counter and requested spoons for our yogurts. I sat back down and mid way we needed napkins and so I walked back out to the counter asked for napkins and was provided napkins. My thing is they were pretty dead in the store why weren’t we provided utensils and napkins when served our food? This is a food service correct? After we finished we wanted a taste of ice cream. I went up and asked for a small container for ice cream. I was given. We got ice cream and it had tasted weird. I tried again and I could taste the cream was acidic along with taste sour. I smelled the ice cream and it too smelled sour. I immediately threw away and the person I was with explained how she overheard another customer earlier near the ice cream say how it had tasted awful. I walked up to the salad bar for the second time after to grab a mini pumpkin bread muffin they had. As I grabbed the salad bar Tongs I was yelled at from across the store to stop and that I’m not aloud to take from the salad bar. The lady came up and took the tongs from the bar, the one I had grabbed to take a small pumpkin muffin bread. I then told her that the vanilla ice was sour that we threw ours away. All she said was okay and turned to walk away. We then left after being yelled at by the sales associate as I didn’t want to cause a scene. She had dirty blond or light brown straight hair, young, I think she wore glasses, thin, semi tall, and she was Caucasian. This was around 3:30pm. We had never been treated so rude at that location as we went there often. After today’s visit 12/26/2020 we will NOT be back and will ensure to...
Read moreWARNING: Extremely poor customer service. My family put in an online curbside pick-up order at the Eden Way Jason’s Deli in Chesapeake Virginia. I received an email verification with a receipt that had all the items listed and total cost, as well as the phone number to call when at the restaurant. Upon arrival the number was called, but nobody ever answered. Finally had to flag down an employee delivering to another vehicle and our order was brought out. Once at home it was noticed that there were missing items. Upon checking the included printed receipt, those items were not there, and there was a different total that was less the cost of those items. So we thought since we were not charged we would let it go. But when we checked our credit card, they had billed us the original higher amount as if we had received the missing items. So I called the restaurant, but again nobody ever answered. So I called the corporate office customer service. They assured me I would be called by that franchise to resolve the problem. I was never called. So, why in these times when restaurants are struggling to survive are they not more careful about getting orders right, and trying to provide the best customer service possible? And why in the world would a computerized online order be transferred to a different computer system that that...
