Office Max is a joke. I went online yesterday to customize memo pads that I wanted to order. Due to the bad reviews and questions that I had I opted to wait go in-store to complete my order. The first location I went to I was in line for about 15 mins waiting before I even made it to the counter. Then I get to the associate and she doesn't even know it's a service that they offer. She had to call her district manager just to confirm that it is a same day service. Nervous that the reviews would end up being true about the task being botched, I called THIS location. The guy in the printing dept, who claimed to be a manager, also seemed confused at what a custom memo pad was. Knowing that I'm up against the clock for their "before 2pm/same day" deadline I opt to drive out of my way so that I could simply show him what his product is that he sells. I get there and now he and another associate are both still baffled at what a memo pad is. She does a search on their computer on their website and shows me the only 2 memo pads that they offer. I make it a point to show her that it literally is the same exact thing that I'd just shown her on my phone after they'd both claimed they didn't know what I was talking about!! Then she tells me it's not a 'same day' item... when it LITERALLY states that it is right on the website, beside the product, that we are both looking at! So I question how a district manager can, without pause, identify this item and confirm it is a same day service and she can't honor it. Her response was that it would take at least 4 hours for the glue to dry. Dumbfounded, now just past the 2pm threshold, I count the hours left until closing at 9pm (7) and ask how that would not be a same day item. Her response was that it was the website that was incorrect and she would let someone know...

I was told that I would get an email when it was ready but the pick-up time on my email from the order stated 7pm. I waited u til 7 then called about my order, was told by the manager that they tried to call me twice around 11am but I didnāt pickup however, I had no missed calls. When I asked why they didnāt say anything when I was in the store at 4pm which was several hours after they claimed they called there was no response. I asked why there was no email if I didnāt pick up the phone as they claimed and I was told they donāt do emails for same day orders and they didnāt leave a voicemail. But when I called they told me they couldnāt have my order completed and offered a refund. Itās crazy that I went all day with no notice about my order not being completed even after showing up in person and no notification. But as soon as I said refund the email went...

I came in to buy a pack of paper ans have it cut and the girl asked me when I wanted to pick it up after she rang up my stuff. š it's just 2 cuts straight through a pack of paper. Two minute setup and the machine does all the work. š
So I'm sitting here waiting for her to "get the line down" so she can cut my paper, but the line never goes down. I would leave but she got my money, next time maybe tell me you can't make my 2 cuts and I won't give you my money!
Her only help is some guy that doesn't know how to do anything behind the counter and has no problem telling everyone "she'll be with you in a minute". I used to brag on office max service, now.... 1 star.
