Luminous Restaurant and Lounge — Restaurant in Chesapeake

We had not only great food but a great experience because of our fabulous waitress Ray-Ray and Chef Oscar and Chef Ray. The service, food quality, and presentation was first class!! Our only negative experience was with the bartender on arrival, she was quick to say that they don't provide service outside on the patio. I asked her for menus to take outside and we would return to place an order once out party arrived, she seemed to pause and hesitate but RayRay walked up and handed me the menu's. We found patio seating outside. Once the rest of the party arrived, hubby went inside to try and order beverages from bar for everyone. RayRay went above and beyond to get a tray and proceeded to carry everything outside for us. Instead of making us have to come back inside she took our orders (which was large) and not only did she return with a serving cart carrying the food but the Chefs came out and assisted. We call this first class service that is not seen a lot these days so we were very appreciative. Delta these individuals are 5 star and represented your establishment well. Breakfast was nice. I was helped shortly after arriving. The Belgian waffle with berries were good. I had an early dinner with salmon, honey roasted brussel sprouts and chef vegetable. While it took a bit for someone to acknowledge that I was there the food was delicious. Today I sat at a table and was ignored while 2 people were being served at the bar, that came in after I did. There was 2 other people there who appeared to be in a meeting. After sitting there over 10 minutes, tried to wave, holding up my hand like in grade school, still nothing, so no one was coming to give me a menu or anything I left. Rhiannon is an amazing bartender! Invititing, welcoming, and great conversation. Unfortunately, our burgers both came out overdone. Rhianna noticed, apologized, and had the manager come speak with us. Both were apologetic and asked if we wanted a new meal. It was late, we were done, so he comped the meal. Realistically, we would have rather had the burgers cooked correctly, but mistakes happened. They owned up to it and made it right. Thank you both! The service recovery...
