5 Brothers Taqueria — Restaurant in Chester

Stopped by for lunch well on the road . Order enchiladas , nacho, chicken quesadillas and torta . First impression the place was kinda empty and very quiet , we felt awkward talking while we ate. But I think it was probably due to the respect of the next door business? Music was playing but very low . They gave us tortilla chips and salsa well we waited for the food . Enchiladas de pollo wasn’t season, needed salt and it was chicken breast which made the texture feel dry . The order also came with rice but it felt undercooked and it was regular color rice not Mexican rice as it made with tomatoes . The chicken quesadillas were good with the sour cream and needed salt to the chicken . The waitress got our order wrong with the wrong table. We also order nachos but it was just lettuce , sour cream and cheese , no tomatoes. There was no guac said it was included . Apparently the avocados were not ready but as a food prep you should see in advanced what you’re short in ingredients. We also had a papaya drink , papaya had no taste and was bitter . Overall I think the torta was good , still needed abit more season on the meat .We ate just to feel full but the food was not the best . We trusted the review but they...

OMG... Authentic Mexican food in Chester NJ! We tried the restaurant when it opened in January, and have been regulars to it ever since. I'm writing this review after a couple of dozen takeout orders and a few in-person visits.

The food it phenomenal... it's a 'from scratch kitchen' and it's FRESH. I love the nachos... chicken or beef, they come loaded to a point where you'll find ourself asking for extra chips to finish all the toppings. Another thing to have with those wonderful home made chips is the salsa verde... it's got fresh avocados in there for an amazing taste and mouth feel.

The crispy tostadas with chicken tinga is always a crowd pleaser. The chipotle with adobo shines in this dish. The tacos with the freshly made tortillas are a sure thing... try the longaniza - their spicy sausage version.

This brings me to their torta... it's a good group! These freshly made Mexican paninis are amazing and I've found myself making excuses to grab one on the go. Your choice or meats, with avocados, pickled jalapeños and other goodies make this one of my favorites.

Long story short... it's a must try if you live in Chester, driving through, or just searching for good Mexican...

I had a great experience today along with my family. I ordered the tacos de carnitas which were great. My wife had the corn quesadillas and they were also pretty good. The fresh chips and their amazing homemade sauces were truly spectacular like many others have mentioned in their reviews. It is sad though that people would give a place a bad rating after receiving a dish they are not happy or satisfied with without asking or giving them an opportunity to fix it and rate their response. I was truly surprised to find a Mexican restaurant in the area with authentic flavors. Highly recommend this restaurant and will be coming back soon to try their tamales. They were out of tamales today...
