Loved this place when they first opened. Didn’t even mind paying the high prices. Last two experiences were less than satisfying and I am starting to see what others have complained about. Feta was forgotten on my Lebanese salad with grilled chicken last week. No biggie, four dollar loss and when I told them about it, they didn’t charge for the feta this time.
Today, I actually ordered garlic, hummus and my usual Lebanese salad today with feta. I made the mistake of getting chicken schwarma. The hummus was fine. However, the bread they gave us was not fresh. It had that previously warmed feel to it, like it was extra served to someone who didn’t eat it. Hard and stale.
The garlic needs improvement as others have mentioned. For me, to not eat the garlic or the salad is a crime, especially when paying that much. I just couldn’t stomach the schwarma. Seemed old and grisly. I even tried the feta separately and being a cheese fanatic, it also seemed “off”. So disappointing.
I guess I’ve been spoiled by other Mediterranean restaurants, but I am so bummed this location is not working out. It’s the only place out this way; Richmond, new Baltimore, Algonac,...
Read moreLeaving 1 star because of the customer service not the food . The ownership (Sam) is terrible and doesn’t stand behind his business
I was charged $97.99 for the family tray even though online it states 91.99 I was also charged $9 for dozen of hot bread online it shows $6.50. When I spoke to the owner he stated that I was not scammed but the menu is wrong and his menu in the restaurant is correct (I ordered off a online menu on their direct website)
When I asked for compensation due to his business error he kept saying come in and he will fix it. Then proceeded to say I was only owed $6 because he did nothing wrong. So really I am owed $8.50 with the discrepancies of the 2 items on the online menu. But he kept going back to the fact where he doesn’t see why he needs to fix it because he did nothing wrong.
Like I said great food, but terrible management. Will not recommend and check your bill before you pay if you got your pricing...
Read moreI hesitate to give a negative review, but Lebanese 23 was a complete disappointment. The food was so-so. The chicken shwarma sandwiches were excellent, the baked kibbe was okay, but the tabbouli salad was gross. It was warm and tinted brown, tasted a little funny, and ultimately we threw it out. Here’s the real problem: this place is anything but a value. The portion sizes are below average and the prices are high. We ordered the baked kibbe entree at $19, and we were floored to see how much food they gave us. See my photo. To put it into context, we get almost twice as much food for $40 from the sushi joint across the street. Additionally, Kabob Town’s food is always fresh and delicious and is a much, much better value. On the positive side, the staff was friendly and the store is clean and inviting. I sincerely hope this restaurant adjusts their portion sizes or pricing—or both. We won’t be returning...
