I never knew this restaurant was here, I wonder when it opened. However I'm very pleased I found this place. It's small and not very visible, you could easily pass it by. I came here for lunch around 11 am with a friend and I will say the highlight of my lunch was the lady working there. She's the sweetest person ever. My friends daughter saw they had some clementines displayed on the counter and wanted one. So I went up to the counter and asked the lady if I could have only one. She said one minute, I went back to my table and she came and gave me two clementines which I gave to my friends daughter. I guess she saw I gave her the clementines and then a few minutes later she came back to the table and handed me 3 more clementines for me. That alone deserves 5 stars and really made my heart happy to encounter such a sweet and thoughtful person. Aside from that the food was good, they have plenty of options for vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free. Some items like the papaya salad are a bit bland. However the fried tofu appetizer and the eggplant tofu dish I got I really enjoyed and would get again. I definitely want to go back and try some more things from the menu. Im Definitely happy I found this place randomly through a Google search. They definitely need a little more advertisement, hoping they stay in business. Update: went back again and my experience was just as good as the first time. I highly recommend the basil fried rice if you're a fan of Thai...
Read moreThe best Thai food I have tasted to date in the St. Louis area. I was introduced to Thai cuisine over 25 years ago in Los Angeles. I have been in love with it ever since. But seldom have I found the same tasty experiences that I had in the rich southeast Asian cuisine market of Los Angeles; until now. Su, in this experience, temporarily hobbling around on crutches, took orders, supervised the kitchen and added the friendly, inviting atmosphere that added the perfect punctuation to the food. My wife and I ordered more food than we could possibly have eaten because everything on the menu looked so delicious. The food was incredibly flavorful and tasty. Su's husband said that she takes special care in personally building all of the sauces that encompass the various items on the menu. It shows. And I like spicy! The spicy items are certainly that, so take care not order over spicy. If you are sensitive, I suggest starting with the "one pepper" on the scale and adding additional spice at the table. What I ordered was perfect and I started with the three. Bottom line: I've only been here once, but it is my new favorite for St. Louis area...
Read moreSo very glad I found this "off the beaten path" family owned, authentic Thai food. If you're in the area - DEFINITELY stop in and enjoy.
I started with Tom Kha Gai soup. I love coconut anything and this soup did not disappoint. Great, creamy coconut flavor. Came out super piping hot.
So next, I asked my server to surprise me with her choice of two different entree items I showed her. I have never been disappointed in letting the server make a surprise choice for me, you should try it! She picked the Khao Soi Gai that was fabulous. A very rich and creamy, coconut base, so flavorful. A generous portion of egg noodles and large pieces of tender chicken. Again, piping hot. I ordered a heat level of 2 and it seemed more like a 3 but still it was perfect.
It was a large enough portion that I had enough to take home. I can't wait to go back and try another dish. Loved meeting the owners/chef, they are all in on delivering a great and tasty...
