Downtown Tacos — Restaurant in Chesterton

The food is ok. We have gone a number of times because we live down the street. We won’t be anymore. We went in for a bite to eat after the beach and our server was so rude. Short girl, brown hair girl. Like any Mexican restaurant you get complimentary chips and salsa if you dine in, well there was 3 of us and the girl brought us a half basket of chips with a small dish of salsa, once they were gone we asked for more, we weren’t being slobs there just wasn’t enough for all 3 of us. I had ordered 2 orders of chips and guacamole which was $14 but she never brought chips just the side of guacamole. when I got our bill she charged me for the chips and salsa. I asked her why did you charge me for the chips and salsa? We have never been charged before and she said because I brought you more. I said well you gave us a half basket of chips and you never gave me any chips with my guacamole. She said it doesn’t come with chips!!! Umm what? How am I supposed to eat it??? Anyways I pay and asked for a receipt and she gave me the ticket she put our order on instead of my debit card receipt that she threw away. I said I asked for a receipt and she said I already gave it to you, she would not give me a receipt for my debit payment. I few hours go buy and I decided to check my bank account because I just had a bad feeling and just as I suspected the debit total had an additional $10 added to it instead of $55 it was $65 so she gave herself a $10 tip after I left her a cash tip on the table, and to make matters worse the transaction came out twice. I will not ever be going...

I don’t usually do this and I hate to have to leave a review like this. We ordered through DoorDash. We love the hibiscus Jamaica. Through the app you choose regular or large for $1.00 more. We ordered large. On one occasion we got what we ordered. Then on another we got smalls. We let it slide. Then months later when we ordered again I called first and was told “oh sorry that happened. We’ll make sure they are large this time.” And they were. This time that was not the case. I had already been charged. I called like the time before, which is ridiculous that I even have to do that in the first place, but this time…Gabby was insistent she is told by her boss she can only give out small drinks to go. We were offered a large option, we paid for large, and still got a small. I know it’s only a few dollars and it seems petty, but I simply cannot wrap my head around the concept of offering an item, charging someone for it, and then literally refusing to give them what...

I ordered street steak tacos and guacamole and chips which is how it is stated in the menu under sides. I also ordered a horchata. When I received my order, there was no chips with the guacamole. I called back thinking it was just an accident in which the lady told me it doesn't come with chips?!?! First of all what do I need the guacamole for if no chips come with it. When I went back to look ,not only is it listed chips and guacamole but there is no way to order just chips. So I called back one more time to explain there is no way to order chip. She told me I had to put in another order of chips and guacamole and she would give me a big bag or chips for the inconvenience. But I am not sure how that helped , seeing as I had to spend another $10 just to receive chips?
