UPDATE 8/18/2023 - It has now been a month since our visit. I have received two emails from Freddy's Digital Hospitality Team telling me I would receive a follow-up from the store and then from the local franchise group. Neither have transpired with the last follow-up email being on 8/2/2023. Obviously, there are more problems than just mediocre food. Star rating adjusted downward to account for the poor customer service issues. It should never take a month to follow-up on a customer service complaint or concern.
I recognize that Freddy's is brand-new to Cheyenne, but being a chain they should already have kinks worked out.
Against my better judgment, my teenagers wanted to try the food. Sadly, it was a disappointment.
While the atmosphere and cleanliness was a plus, the food itself was a huge disappointment and so was the service. There was not a long wait at the time we went, so I am not sure why the problems we found just two days ago. With a quick slide of the order window, our bags were unceremoniously handed to me with barely a word said through the entire transaction by the worker.
The hamburgers looked like they had been slapped together in a haphazard manner by kindergarteners. We didn't even order special burgers, just the Freddy's Original. Half of the burger was not even in the bun on either hamburger ordered, but was hanging off the side and wrapped up in a careless manner.
The fries were cold and one order of the cheese fries had a little dollop of nacho cheese covering just a small corner of the entire order.
My teenagers, who love burgers and fries, didn't even finish their meal.
My wife got a Veggie burger and rated it a 3 at best. It was not crisp and average at best.
I hope that this is not what is going to pass for regular Freddy's fare here in Cheyenne in the long run. We will try again, but if I had to choose right now, I would make the drive down to the one in Timnath, Colorado for the service...
Read moreIt's worth mentioning this first that this fast food restaurant has only been open since July, so it's still really fresh in Cheyenne. With that said, I think they are off to a great start. This visit I'm going to rate them on was my second time coming here, but the first time was just a quick visit, so it was hard to judge things. But this visit I'm going to discuss was a full dining experience. I'll start with the food. It was very fresh and tasty. It came out in a timely manner. The burger was so good!! Even though the fries are small in size, they are very delicious and leave you wanting to order more. The cheese curds were made just right with the cheese cooked well, and the crunchy exterior had the right crunch. Now with the service. I have zero criticisms for the service. The young people were very friendly and knew what they were doing. I talked to a few of the front counter employees, and for them, it was their first job, and they did a good job. There were a lot of front counter employees, so it did look a bit cluttered up there at one point, but they were acting professional, so there were no complaints there. I think a minor critique I have is that they need to keep up with the dining area a bit and wipe down the tables a little more often. The only complaint I have has to do with the parking lot so it has no bearing on the food, service, or dining area. I do not like the drive thru and how it's designed. I witnessed for myself when I pulled in how dicey it gets when it gets busy. When it gets busy, the cars from the drive thru start overflowing into the outside road by lowes, and that could be problematic. Overall, my rating was as close to a 5 stars as it gets like a 4.90. I look forward to visiting this restaurant in the future to see...
Read moreSecond and third time eating at Freddy's in Cheyenne. First time was in Kansas and it was amazing so I was very excited to see one opening up in Cheyenne. The first visit here was the week they opened. Not a long wait time and the food was fresh and hot. But the flavor was lacking in the burger, the sandwich itself was a mess. I'm pretty sure they're all working feverishly fast in the line but I eat with my eyes as much with my stomach. I was disappointed too that as I drove away my soda was flat... So, I gave them a second chance last week and I was disappointed again. There were only 3 cars in front of me, so the wait time was minimal - I was very hungry. I ordered a regular burger, no cheese extra pickles with lettuce and tomato with a side of onion rings. The burger had zero flavor and I only received 6 onion rings in the order (yes I counted them) for an $11 meal, I expected more. I actually went back and requested a cash refund, which took 2 cashiers and a manager to handle. They offered me a coupon for a free combo meal, but I declined. I hope they get better over time as Cheyenne has few options when it comes to good fast-food. Not sure I'll be going back...
