If you’re looking for a Turkish restaurant that transports you straight to the streets of Istanbul with every bite, this is the place. I don’t usually write long reviews (okay, maybe I do), but this experience deserves every word—and then some.
From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was being welcomed into someone’s home. The atmosphere was cozy but elegant, filled with the scent of grilled meats, spices, and something that can only be described as pure Turkish magic. You know that feeling when you’re so hungry you start imagining your meal as a close family reunion? That was me.
Now, let me tell you about the woman who took my order—what a gem! I wish I remembered her name, but let’s just say if names were written in smoke and I had to grab it midair… I missed. Completely. Still, she was so incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely sweet that I’ll never forget her vibe. She made me feel like I was the only customer in the place (even though it was packed). She answered all my questions with patience, recommended dishes based on what I was in the mood for (which was basically “everything”), and even explained a few ingredients I’d never heard of.
I ordered the mixed grill platter, and I swear, each item deserved its own applause. The lamb was juicy and perfectly spiced, the chicken practically melted in my mouth, and the Adana kebab? Let’s just say I had a brief moment of silence after the first bite. The rice was buttery, the vegetables were roasted just right, and the warm bread they serve on the side? Dangerous. I was two slices away from asking if they sold it by the kilo.
Oh—and the baklava! If you leave this place without trying it, we can’t be friends. It was crispy, sweet but not too sweet, with layers so thin they could teach a seminar on architecture.
Back to the lovely mystery woman who took my order—please give her a raise, a medal, and maybe a billboard that just says “You’re doing amazing, sweetie.” I may not remember her name, but I’ll remember how she made me feel: welcome, taken care of, and like my dinner was about to be unforgettable.
Can’t wait to come back. Next time, I’m bringing friends—and a notepad so I can finally...
Read moreThis spot is a hidden gem in Chicago. By far the BEST Turkish food I've ever had in the United States and believe me I am very picky. I went here with my family and the hospitality was incredible and matched the delicious food. Where do I start? The Lahmacun (if you know you know) was extremely fresh and tasty. Not to mention their bread is made in house and is super yummy....literally have dreams of it. The spreads? Very flavorful and delicious. We tried a few but my favorite was Ezme because it had that pop of spice in it (on the mild side). The Hummus and the eggplant salad were amazing. Let's get to my favorite part now....the Kebabs!!!! Looking for succulent and tender meat? This is your spot. You can't go wrong with the Adana...super juicy and delicious. We tried a very unique dish Yogurt Adana Lamb which was delicious. However my personal favorite was the Mix Grill Kebab.......YUM! If you are a meat lover you have to try that one. To top it off, you can't go wrong with their desserts. Their Kunefe is to die for but the most unique item is their Kazan Dibi Custard...WOW I loved that one.
The best part about this spot? Not only is their food delicious their hospitality and service is unmatched. The owner is incredibly kind as well as the servers. They provide great recommendations and are extremely helpful. We are super picky but they are always accommodating. Lastly they are EXTREMELY clean. Now I have tried many restaurants where food and service is great but hygiene is lacking. Not Bereket. Bereket is very clean which is important to me. Please please give this spot a try if you are in Chicago. I will be recommending to everyone I know and will start organizing corporate events at...
Read moreI recently visited this Turkish restaurant and it was absolutely amazing! I took my mom along with me and she was blown away by the delicious food they served. The naan (Turkish bread) was a hit with her, and she even ordered some extra to take home. The food was incredibly fresh, and the taste and quality of the meat and vegetables were top-notch. The way they cooked the meat was perfect, and the flavors were just outstanding.
Not only was the food exceptional, but the customer service was also top-notch. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that we had a fantastic dining experience. The cozy ambiance of the restaurant made it a perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal.
We tried the Iskender kebab, which is one of my favorite Turkish dishes, and it was cooked to perfection. The taste and quality of the food were truly outstanding. We also ordered dolma and lahmacun, both of which were excellent. Additionally, we tried some mixed kebab dishes that included different types of TÜRK kebabs, and they were all delicious. The kebabs were served with rice, which was a great option for those who want to try multiple flavors in one dish.
And, of course, I can't forget to mention the Turkish tea. It's always a must-have for me, and it never disappoints.
I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for an incredible dining experience. The food is absolutely delicious, and you won't be disappointed. Give it a try, and I'm sure you'll love it as much...
