This review is for seafood lovers and seafood lovers only. So if you do not like seafood this review is it for you. Now that we’ve got that out the way if you love seafood this is the place for you. I must say this is how seafood should be done. This place has been in business for years and their product is the reason why. If you thought you had jumbo shrimp and you haven’t had them from goose Island shrimp House you haven’t had jumbo shrimp. They have the biggest juiciest succulent jumbo shrimp in Chicago. Located in the heart of Chicago on division a couple of blocks from Halsted this secret Jewel has been treasured for years and will be treasured for years to come. On any day may it be winter spring summer or fall you can arrive at goose Island and find several people outside in their cars enjoying that which makes goose island a five star takeout restaurant. From shrimp to jumbo shrimp to clams oysters and even frog legs you will find that in which you are looking for at goose Island. Make sure you get a side of hot sauce with your fried seafood it is to die for. Make sure when you stop by you let them know Mr. Brown sent you. #Googleexpertphotographer #Googlereviews #mrBrownsaid #enjoy

Hands down the best and most traditional Chicago style shrimp. When I was a young teen, my parents would take me there, and as a father of 2 boys, that tradition continues. Aside from the enormous and perfectly cooked jumbo shrimp, they have a variety of fish, the best homemade mac salad, which I get EVERY time, potatoe salad and a variety of other fried goodies. Drop in and see why they've been in business so long. They have the best homemade sauce for the shrimp, mild or hot. I go for the mild and always get extra. As a tip, call 15 minutes ahead of arrival, as they will prep your food, then on arrival, let them know you're there, and they will cook it fresh. 1lb of Jumbo Shrimp, mac salad and a grape crush -- my classic order!

First time here. The place is small and take out only. It was pretty busy when we went in, but our food didn't take too long to be ready. Everything is a la cart. The jumbo shrimp were good, but for the amount you pay, you could have a few more shrimp for almost 20$ a lbs. and they are pretty skimpy of the French fries. Potato salad was okay, but the coleslaw was better. I asked to try all the sauces, so I had to pay for each one, but sorry to say they were nothing special or any different that I don't get included in my fried shrimp meals from places I go to on the South-East Side of Chicago. I might try them again if in the area, but finding parking is a problem. Customer service itself was okay.

I've been coming to Goose Island for years. They have yet to disappoint me. Since I can't eat shellfish I usually get their catfish and frog legs. Their frog legs are meaty and good. Of course you have to like them to understand their tastiness. The catfish is really good. They give you about 6-7 pieces for a pound order. Fish is always fresh and you can taste the freshness. Their breading is what makes their food. They use a garlic type breading that is a little thick, but very flavorful. I heard some people say their breading is too thick and yes it is. However, it's not like it is all bread and no meat. The meat and breading ratio is good. They also have mushrooms, clam strips, crab salad, potato chips, fries etc as additional sides you can get for like $2 bucks or so. Their cole slaw and macaroni salad are good too. However, my favorite is the macaroni salad. Its not goopy like other places. More macaroni than cream. The only downfall is they only take cash. So make a note of that when you come. The upside is they are open all night until the wee hours of the morning like 4am. That's why most people love coming here because they know this place will be open after a long night of partying and drinking. And I must agree to that. Check it out when you get a chance. It is kind of in a area that is deserted and you can miss it if it wasn't for their sign and the line of cars you will see parked when you pull up. I've come by myself at night and have been fine. If all else fails you can just sit in the car and wait until your order is ready (because it can be crowded at times) like...

When you look up the word dive in reference to a business or hole in tge wall you might see a picture of this place. Much like the original Ben's shrimp house that was on Nirth Avenue in Chicago Illinois. I don't know who these guys are that are running the place. It's definitely not the original people. Although there are a handful of pictures that can be seen there. The recipe here is just like if not the same as the Original Ben's shrimp House and Ken's Shrimp house ( Ben's nephew Kenneth koslowski). Ken's was taken over by Anthony D. Hernandez by hostile lawsuit in the mid 1990's. The business was at Chicaho and Damen then moved to Chicago and california. The place s now at this writing a restaurant called feed. The food at Goose Island is good, hence the long standing take out history. And will not disappoint. Any place with this recipie has a winner. Other items on the menu are bought from suppliers to sell to the public. The shrimp, frog legs and fish chips are hand...
