I've been coming to Goose Island for years. They have yet to disappoint me. Since I can't eat shellfish I usually get their catfish and frog legs. Their frog legs are meaty and good. Of course you have to like them to understand their tastiness. The catfish is really good. They give you about 6-7 pieces for a pound order. Fish is always fresh and you can taste the freshness. Their breading is what makes their food. They use a garlic type breading that is a little thick, but very flavorful. I heard some people say their breading is too thick and yes it is. However, it's not like it is all bread and no meat. The meat and breading ratio is good. They also have mushrooms, clam strips, crab salad, potato chips, fries etc as additional sides you can get for like $2 bucks or so. Their cole slaw and macaroni salad are good too. However, my favorite is the macaroni salad. Its not goopy like other places. More macaroni than cream. The only downfall is they only take cash. So make a note of that when you come. The upside is they are open all night until the wee hours of the morning like 4am. That's why most people love coming here because they know this place will be open after a long night of partying and drinking. And I must agree to that. Check it out when you get a chance. It is kind of in a area that is deserted and you can miss it if it wasn't for their sign and the line of cars you will see parked when you pull up. I've come by myself at night and have been fine. If all else fails you can just sit in the car and wait until your order is ready (because it can be crowded at times) like...

Read moreWhen you look up the word dive in reference to a business or hole in tge wall you might see a picture of this place. Much like the original Ben's shrimp house that was on Nirth Avenue in Chicago Illinois. I don't know who these guys are that are running the place. It's definitely not the original people. Although there are a handful of pictures that can be seen there. The recipe here is just like if not the same as the Original Ben's shrimp House and Ken's Shrimp house ( Ben's nephew Kenneth koslowski). Ken's was taken over by Anthony D. Hernandez by hostile lawsuit in the mid 1990's. The business was at Chicaho and Damen then moved to Chicago and california. The place s now at this writing a restaurant called feed. The food at Goose Island is good, hence the long standing take out history. And will not disappoint. Any place with this recipie has a winner. Other items on the menu are bought from suppliers to sell to the public. The shrimp, frog legs and fish chips are hand...
