Beware as this is not the Kristoffer’s Bakery that is widely known. This is one that has newly opened and is almost a carbon copy of Kristoffer’s Cafe and Bakery (with actual #1 Tres Leches). The customer service here is a brick wall, as they aren’t willing to listen or compromise. Good, successful businesses are open to comments and complaints- this place is not. The lady there, named Christina, was extremely passive aggressive, immature, and rude. I called and simply explained that we might show up 5-10 minutes after closing to pick up the order. Hearing “I’m sorry, however due to prior commitments, the store will be vacant after closing,” is appropriate. This is not how it was communicated. Christina cut me off multiple times, explaining the fact of the matter multiple times as if we cannot comprehend English, and proceeded to berate us with her passive attitude, complaining that we weren’t on time, saying that she has to go for an “emergency” as well when we explained that we had a family emergency to attend to. This was extremely rude, and quite frankly ugly. We tried to cancel the order after realizing this is not the REAL Kristoffer’s cafe and bakery. She immediately cut me off and started ranting- I am in no way exaggerating the situation, I have never encountered such unprofessionalism in the city of Chicago. You’re lack of care and service is not welcome here. All because you have copied the products of a household name in the city doesn’t mean you can treat your customers with nothing but rudeness. I am very irked with the way we were treated and hope people catch on and start going to the REAL Kristoffer’s.
Considering the fact that this business is also making updates with how it looks and it’s updated website + aesthetics, customers from out of town will flock here by nature... this business is also the first one to show up on search engines, which is definitely something that may be manipulated by the owner. This business is stealing money and their model from a quaint, successful family business near Pilsen. This is stealing and should be reported- assuming they have...

As seen in the response of the owner of this business to my review; the word CHOOSE is spelled incorrectly, so very likely this business is misspelling customer’s names incorrectly and blaming it on the customer. The word “Fanjay” does not even make any sense; I actually stated over the phone “Sanjay”. There were no apologies or anything just rude people own this place and that is what seems based on their response and my interaction with the business owner during the pick up of the order.
And sure we all have the right to CHOOSE which business to support. When I went to pick up the order; the name on the cake was misspelled and even though the name was fixed; the owner of the bakery tried to blame it on me who placed the order over the phone . This is poor customer service. To solve an issue you just do not blame it on the customer right off the bat due to a customer mispronouncing a name or whatever the case may be; you apologize and fix the issue if possible.
Also, I was not informed of the 3.5% credit card charge over the phone so I ended up paying for it without even knowing it.
I do not think I will come back due to their poor customer...
Read moreWoke up craving a slice of cake today and remembered that Kristoffer’sCakes isn’t too far from home. I decided to stop by and pick up a slice of coconut tres leches along with a cappuccino slice.
First off—the service was wonderful and the atmosphere incredible. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by beautiful music and stunning displays that truly made it hard to choose just one dessert.
Leaning into my Latin roots and Puerto Rican culture, I decided on the coconut tres leches. At first glance, I thought it might be a little dry—“How could this possibly be tres leches without being soaked?” But let me just say: don’t judge a book by its cover. The cake had the perfect amount of moistness, beautifully balanced by the three milks.
The coconut flavor was divine—subtle yet present—with just the right touch of coconut flakes. Nothing overpowering, just smooth, delicate, and absolutely delicious. Truly the best of both worlds. I will...
