M Lounge — Restaurant in Chicago

Post Covid update. Places opens after 6 pm but I here right now at 7:45 and first customers just coming in right now and DJ is just setting up. He will be playing a wide variety of music and it will not be strictly house music. They are currently only open on Friday and Saturday nights. Not a lot of space to dance but dancing is allowed as I confirmed that today. I have danced the night away on more than one occasion in the past. The bartenders are pouring great drinks. These are NOT watered down and in fact even as a guy I had to show down my drinking as they were stout. Lol. Had a great time until the rent-a-cop showed up. Happy hour from 7-9, great vibes. Had to take a phone call and needed to step out because of the music. Now, knowing some chicago lounges/clubs/bars don't allow re-entry, I asked would it be a problem to step out. He said it was cool. Upon returning, the same so called security decided to card me before re-entry. I complied but he was hesitant to allow me back in. Mind you, I hadn't paid my bill yet. Then wanted to argue with my friend when she came to see what was the hold up.

Just like everyone cant be a cop, everyone cant work security. And if he was a cop, do better. It's a reason why the nightlife in Chicago is dead. He's part of the reason.

M Lounge is hands down one of the best spots in the South Loop if you’re into smooth jazz and a killer cocktail.
