I cannot say enough good things about Pure Barre South Loop. I started taking classes at this location in the Spring of 2021. I had lost about 35 lbs in the year prior and was in search of something to help me seriously tone up. I took the free Foundations class to learn the basics. I really liked it. The instructor (Meghan) was so welcoming and did a great job explaining different moves and terminology used during the classes. I started regularly attending their “Classic” classes afterwards. I LOVE it!!! The classes are not high intensity cardio but you get a seriously good workout and calorie burn. Within weeks of going 2-4 times a week I started noticing major changes in my muscle tone and shape. I have definition in my arms for the first time in my life (45 years old). Each class is different and challenging but not overwhelming. The instructions are all incredible. They are fantastic at helping with modification or showing you how to adjust one way or another to make sure you are doing the moves correctly and safely. They music playlists are always awesome. The one thing that I really enjoy and appreciate is the diversity of the people that attend the classes. The classes are almost always made up of woman (and the occasional male) of all different shapes, sizes, ages and skill levels. I’ve always felt very welcomed and felt like I belong. I have met some really incredible woman at this location and it’s the highlight of my day when I go. If you are considering trying a class, I would absolutely recommend Pure Barre South Loop. They...

Almost 20 classes in and here are my thoughts... great challenging class for core, hips, seat and arms. Wish I had listened to my friends and checked it out sooner. I tried another barre class a few years ago and did not like it so I have to admit that when I tried this one I was not optimistic. What a great surprise!
Clean studio, energetic music and upbeat instructors! I had moments of confusion (and still do) as classes move fast but by watching/listening I picked up on the lingo and my technique is constant work in progress.
What keeps me going back (and I will!)? First, the classes have strengthened my weaker areas, helping me with hip/low back issues that I've had for years (note that I modify when needed so that I am strengthening and not re-injuring!). Second, the workouts seem to complement (if that is part of your fitness plan) other cardio well given the focus on weaker areas but even during exclusively PB-focused weeks, I know that I am challenging myself and getting stronger. Third, it is an energetic environment and great place to spend 50 minutes of your day. If you are even tempted to try...
Read moreI decided to try Pure Barre as a way to supplement my running and improve my overall strength. Even after just my first class at PBSL I knew it was what I had been looking for--it was challenging (in the first 5 minutes I was like "omg this is the warm up??") but not impossible by any means, and automatically worked lots of the muscles I had been neglecting after years of only running. Instructors change it up a little bit every class, so I always leave feeling like different muscle groups have been worked each time. Since starting a little over a month ago, I definitely feel stronger, I have fewer pains and aches after runs, and my posture has improved. The classes are a little pricey, but to me they're worth it--plus, the vibe at the studio is great. Instructors and staff are supportive and super friendly, and they all make an effort to remember names and get to know everyone, which has not been my experience at any other...
