It is always interesting to join a new community and i guess dog parks are part of that experience. As a new dog owner it is very interesting to see chicago dog owners and their dogs. This dogpark should be the standard for all dog parks in the city in size and features.

Small pet area, large pet area, water features, and owner accommodations. The park is enjoyed by many great owners and some not so great ones. But really its the owners and community that keep this dog park in shape. Without the participation of the selfless owners I have witnessed this park could be worse. People pick up random poop, they clean the hair, and it serves as a great space to bond with man's best friend.

Artificial tarp is standard woven textile with aggregate underneath that drains. I would have liked to see dedicated real green space incorporated with the artificial grass. But I'm not a designer. Happy doggos will...

After my elderly dog passed away this summer, I got a “COVID puppy” like so many others in the city who are working from home. My pup Bentley has energy to spare, and Fred Anderson has been a life saver. We started on the small dog side and eventually moved over to the big dog side as Bentley got bigger. The park itself great—super clean and lots of room to play. There ate rarely any skirmishes between the dogs—almost all of them are very well-behaved. And the other owners are great too and have been wonderful to compare notes with about our puppies. I feel like I’ve made real friends, and Bentley has made 100 million dog and people friends because he is so so so social. I’m moving out of Chicago, and I thank all the dogs and owners for being so open and friendly and fun for Bentley to play with. And thanks to all the dogs for helping him learn the ropes of becoming a happy, healthy adult dog...

Great dog park for both small and large dogs. Don't bring your dog here if you don't want them to potentially get wet, there are some fountains that spray water and small doggie pools. There is a pressure plate on ground that when stepped on starts the fountains. However it is a large park and if you wanted to play with your dog away from the fountains, you could go there. Abundance of balls that are left there to play with that aren't slimy and gross. Doggie bags and trashcans available. Always a variety of dogs there to play with, even later at night. Highly recommended. Very...

I walk dogs and love going to Fred Anderson park. There's a wonderful water fountain, normally, for the woofs to play. This season, due to Covid, the city has held back turning it on. But kind patrons of the park brought two doggy pools to play in, and it's lovely. The park can be different at different times as it gets crowded sometimes and be more overwhelming, but I mostly go in the late morning, early afternoon and the folks are very cool and the dogs all play very well together. If there are trouble pups, it's usually handles respectfully amongst the humans.

I loved bringing my dog to this park — honestly, I used to think it was the best one in the city. But the new sprinkler system is a huge disappointment. Instead of just having the fountain like before, they’ve added sprinklers that spray all over the walkways and play areas, which means both people and dogs get soaked. Now, half the park doesn’t even get used because it’s constantly being sprayed. And really… what’s the point of spraying water over fake grass? It feels like a design mistake that makes the park less enjoyable for everyone.
