I unfortunately had a very disappointing experience today. I usually go to a different aesthetician who is currently taking some time off so since I had used Eyelashworks in the past I decided to go here to get my lashes done for my birthday. I came in for a light volume set, wanting the anime look where spikes of lashes form little tent-like triangles to give a wet sort of look. My aesthetician showed me a picture of a client or hers with the anime look and it was cute so I went through with the service. After the first half hour the glue she was using started to burn my nostrils and my eyes, which I thought was strange since I’ve had eyelash extensions consistently over the past three years from varying lash artists and have never had that problem. It was causing my eyes to water so much that she had to stop several times to fan my eyes and had to offer me a tissue after my service.
Secondly, I’m not sure what she was doing that caused this, but every ten minutes or so she would either tug on my eyelashes causing a sharp pain, or poke my lash line with an extension. This didn’t help my eyes watering, and it kept making me flinch and making my eyes twitch, which was incredibly uncomfortable.
The result ended up being only okay. My lashes ended up looking less like spikes though and more like thick lines extending from the rest of the normal lash extensions, (think the way a child draws lines as eyelashes on a portrait.) Upon further inspection, it looks like the way she crated the, “spikes” was by gluing an entire clump of lashes together which also resulted in the stuck-together lashes to be extremely stiff and sharp, so any time I close my eyes I get poked in the lash line :/. After my services I didn’t want to make a scene so I just ended up paying and leaving.
I ended up trimming the spikes down with cuticle scissors and using lash adhesive remover to help loosen up some of those super stiff clumps, which helped a little bit. The lashes are still very uncomfortable to wear and I hope no long-term damage has been done to my lashes.
I will say that I have had some positive experiences at Eyelashworks in the past, so I think it really depends on which artist you go to. I would recommend finding your artist on social media before you book though to make sure they can do the service you’re looking for!
UPDATE: the shop owner contacted me and kindly offered me a removal and refund free of charge. I was able to get my lashes to a point where I’m comfortable with them, though, so I don’t think it’ll be necessary. Adding two more stars for...
Read moreSoooooo happy to have found this lash studio!! I love a dramatic and very full lash set, which makes it so hard to find a lash tech since not everyone is skilled to do these sets. I’ve gotten mega volume sets from a few lash techs here and majority of them have been able to achieve the look that I wanted. I would highly recommend trying out this lash studio if you are looking one!! I always get compliments on the sets that I get from here and they usually last me a couple weeks.
Pro’s: -The staff & owner are very friendly and genuinely care about your happiness with the service -I love the location of the studio. It’s easy to get to and close to the loop but it is not on a very busy street -The lash techs are able to achieve the look that you want if you are able to communicate what you want (I recommend bringing reference photos!!) -The price is reasonable for the value and honestly is about the same or less than other lash techs in the area -Retention is great! I’ve had sets last for 3+ weeks -Booking an appointment is super easy on their website & they are very responsive on IG if you have any questions.
Cons: (honestly no cons with the actual service) -There is no parking lot, but there is tons of paid...
Read moreI recently visited the eyelash salon and was disappointed with my experience. While I had high hopes for the service, unfortunately this was not my experience.
First and foremost, after only one week of having my lashes done, 90% of the lashes on my left eye had already fallen out, and 60% on the right eye. This was a major disappointment and left me feeling like the service was not worth the money.
Secondly, the technician who performed the service spent most of the time whispering and giggling with the technician next to us. This made me feel extremely uncomfortable, as if they were talking about me and not focusing on the task at hand.
Lastly, the spacing in the salon was cramped and uncomfortable. The chairs were too close together and there was not enough room for clients to feel comfortable during the service.
Overall, I had higher expectations for this salon and unfortunately was let down. I cannot recommend this salon to others based on...
