I ordered takeout from their website for delivery. I got the wrong order. I called the restaurant twice, but they didn't pick up. I called again the next day, and the person gave me the phone number of the manager. Called the manager, didn't answer, and I left a voice note. I called the restaurant again later that day and the manager started scolding me! Said, why didn't I call yesterday, I told him i did, and no one answered. He said, "Can't be, we have 4 lines." He asked the time of calls, and I gave him exact times. Such rude manager, spoke extremely unprofessionally and rudely. When I finally spoke to him, he asked why i contacted so late again, i told him everything again... then he didn't believe that i called yday, and I gave him the exact times that I rang them! He said to contact menustar for refund,.he gave me their number. When I contacted menustar they said that the manager told me I received the correct order and the manager asked me for pictures but I didn't send. The manager never asked for pictures! He asked if I had the food still I said no I threw it obviously!
Don't visit such rude...
Read moreI had eaten here once before and thought the food to be mediocre and extremely overpriced, they definitely take advantage of their location. If I was in old town, there are a number of better places. If you are in the mood for middle eastern, there are hundreds of places far better and cheaper. This kicker is the owner is EXTREMELY RUDE. The only reason I am posting a review is because of our experience with the owner today. My fiance wanted to stop in and order take out from them (much to my protest) and we pulled up and put our directional on to pull into the loading zone. As I begin to pull in a car came flying in and blocked my entrance into the spot. When I rolled down my window to protest the lady yelled "this is my loading zone and I own the restaurant" as I replied we were simply trying to park there to order take out she simply rolled up her window and ignored me. Needless to say we did not order take out and I will NEVER...
Read moreAfter living in Chicago, I returned for just one night and was here for just one meal. Without a doubt, I chose to go to Old Jerusalem. The only way you could possibly find better, more authentic Middle Eastern food would require a $783 plane ticket to Beirut—and even then you’ll be pushing your luck. The ingredients, the flavors, and the love and care put into each of their dishes puts this family-run establishment in a league of their own. Each of their meat dishes, particularly the shawarma, is bursting with rich and juicy flavor. The side salad, bread, and rice are all excellent and flavorful as well. My only complaint about this place is that it has raised my standards as to what good Middle Eastern food should taste like, which has become a minor inconvenience—while there are many other good options out there, this place simply cannot be beat. I give Old Jerusalem my complete and total...
