DO NOT come here!!! RUDE Wait staff!!!

I've been here many many times and lately the past couple times I've received terrible terrible customer service from the Asian female wait staff. Not to mention that the broth for the beef house special pho is never consistent and taste different and worse each time we order bc we always get the same pho.

My most recent visit was the worst service I have EVER encountered of any restaurant!

The female waitress brought us the basil, bean sprouts and cabbage to put in our pho but the one she brought me was very brown and slimy and so I asked for a new plate of it. She rolled her eyes and came back with what looked like the same plate of veggies. I posted pic below to show how brown it looked might be hard to tell with lighting but it was definitely brown.

Then when I asked for extra lime bc the ones they gave us were hard and dry literally no juice came out she had an attitude and said it would be extra charge! I didn't want to argue so I said okay I'm fine with the charge. But the limes she charged us for were also hard and dry! Ridiculous!!!!!

Then when she brought us the bill, my bf was signing the receipt and she hovered over him making him uncomfortable. She literally snagged the receipt from his hand before he even finished signing and cleared the table before we had even gotten up to leave! She was super aggressive and extremely rude.

We will not be paying for this type of behavior especially when we are paying customers and not asking for anything outrageous, so we will not be returning even though we used to come here often for pho.

Avoid this place, the service is not worth it. Very rude waitresses. There's a second Asian female waitress there as well who also has an attitude and has served us on other occasions, something is up with the female waitresses here very miserable. Never had an issue with the male wait staff.

Won't be returning. You lost...

The new workers are awful. I've been dining at this restaurant for over two years. The service from the old workers has always been great. But the new workers... I came in today with my 3 friends and in the past, I've always tipped. This one time however, we couldn't afford to tip more. Normally if I don't tip for a service, I'd come back another day and pay more. However, as we were returning our check, one of the workers came up to us and demanded that we had to tip, even pointing to the tip percentages on the receipt. I don't understand how someone in their right mind can even attempt to convince 4 kids into tipping, when it isn't a required policy. She was going at it for at least 10 minutes. When we finally said we couldn't tip, she visibly got upset and walked away. She brushed us off like it didn't upset her, but she immediately started complaining to her coworker in her native language that we were "disrespectful kids" and that we were "out of our minds for coming to a restaurant without tipping". The service itself was also bad. I don't typically care about this, because I understand that workers can be tired, but the moment we even sat down, the only "costumer service" we received were dirty glances and gossiping. It's very upsetting that this place turned out like this, considering it was one of my favorites. I don't think I'll ever...

I placed an order for pickup at this restaurant through their website. I ordered 2 house phos and 2 orders of fresh spring rolls. I arrived at the restaurant 15 minutes later and asked about my order and the waiter looked at me dumbfounded. He checked with the kitchen and they had the order, but they hadn't started it. It was a Wednesday afternoon and only somewhat busy. The small restaurant was half full, but most of the people had already received their food. They told me to have a seat and my order will be started.

I ended up waiting for over 30 minutes before I received my food, and I had to ask the waiter whether the takeout bag sitting on the counter was mine since he didn't realize it sitting there over 5 minutes after it came out of the kitchen. So all in all, over 45 minutes for a pickup, in which time I probably could have had it delivered to my house. Funny thing is I received an email asking about my experience ordering from their site before I even received my food.

The pho and spring rolls itself were decent, hence the 2 stars versus 1. The bowls for those dining in at the restaurants were really big, but it doesn't seem the takeout containers contain as much. Overall, I might try them again for dining in, but considering how long it took for them to bring out a bowl of pho on a slow day, I definitely wouldn't come on...

I ordered the chicken with rice noodle pho for delivery with an avocado smoothie and side of extra noodles. I placed my order online then immediately called the restaurant to request my avocado smoothie to not be sweetened (restaurants tend to add a ton of sugar and I can't eat that). The woman told me too late, she already made it, she could not modify my drink, or remove it from the bill and that I'd have to call door dash. Door dash assisted by the third call. Great I got the food and smoothie (gave the smoothie to the driver, bc why not, he deserves it and might enjoy it) - then I open my food order. The slimiest chicken (this has to be like lab-grown meant or, "not chicken" meat idk, no mung bean sprouts, no jalapenos, no fresh basil leaves, or even a lime... Just a pinch of cilantro and some cooked onions? Very, very disappointed for $39. Love door dash for helping me, and I personally will not be eating from here again.

As a Vietnamese foodie, my favorite soup is bún bò huế (spicy beef noodle soup), and this place truly hits the spot. Noodles are perfectly cooked, broth is deep in flavor, portions are large, and there's no skimping on toppings and fatty meats. The broth isn't really spicy, so you may need to add your own chili oil. Still the ultimate comfort food that I keep coming back for. As for the phở đặc biệt, grilled pork chops, and Vietnamese coffee, my experience is pretty decent, but not particularly special or memorable. Egg rolls are just okay. I love the limeade, both flat and carbonated. Just know that it's pretty sweet (like a soda), but has a strong and refreshing lime flavor. Overall, it's nice to have a decent Viet option in Chinatown and South Loop, since most of the staples are in Argyle.
