I recently ordered food at Sinya and was thoroughly impressed by the entire experience. From the moment I walked in to pick up food the ambiance transported me to the heart of the Mediterranean, with its warm, inviting decor and soothing music.
Food: The menu offers a delightful array of Mediterranean classics. I ordered the chicken shawarma platter, which included hummus and salad. Each item was fresh and bursting with flavor, particularly the hummus, which was creamy and perfectly seasoned.
Service: The service at Sinya was exceptional, even though I did not dine in, the server was attentive and very friendly.
Ambiance: The restaurant's atmosphere is both elegant and comfortable, making it perfect for both casual dining and special occasions. The soft lighting and tasteful decor create a relaxing environment that complements the culinary experience.
Value: Considering the quality of the food and the level of service, the prices at Sinya are very reasonable. Portion sizes are very generous, and the flavors are authentic and satisfying.
Overall: Sinya is a gem that brings the vibrant flavors of the Mediterranean to the heart of any town! Whether you're looking for a place to enjoy a leisurely meal with friends or a dinner date for two, this restaurant is sure to impress. I highly recommend giving it a try.

Read moreFor all you lovers of Mediterranean food, this place needs to be on your list. I visited the one in the River North area, but they have two locations; the other is in Roscoe village at 3224 N Damen.
what I was impressed with the most was how fresh the food was. I’m sure I’m not the only one that has been to a Mediterranean restaurant and had food that tasted processed and like it came from a box out of the grocery store. Not here! Everything I had tasted fresh - from the sauces to the salad dressing to the hummus, the falafel, and even the virgin strawberry Mojito! The hummus was so creamy and the meats were seasoned very well!
I tried Knafeh for the first time and it’s definitely a new favorite dessert! Initially I was apprehensive about trying it, but once I did, I was like wow! It uses pastry, strands, a sweet cheese and a sweet syrup. You can even add a scoop of ice cream to it if you’d like! It’s only available at the River North location from 4 PM to 10 PM. Definitely a must try!
And that coffee you see is my Apple Pie Latte! Talk about tasty! It’s made with apple butter and cinnamon brown sugar honey.
They’re for sure one of my new top favorite Mediterranean restaurants in the Chicago area. Stop by for relaxing cup of coffee and maybe a sweet treat...
Read moreI was so excited to find Shakshouka, so we came here for breakfast. The young girls at the counter were very kind and helpful, and the interior of this place is just gorgeous. I would love to have the beautiful decorative accents in our own home.
The food, at least the breakfast, unfortunately was not the best we’ve had. In my travels I’ve come across this dish a number of times, and in most of those experiences the tomato base had this nice sweetness to it. Nothing additive tasting, just the natural sweetness of the tomatoes they used, which helped with balance so that the dish isn’t too acidic or sour.
The tomatoes in both the Shakshouka and the Sinya skillet, which isn’t a skillet in the way most restaurants would characterize a skillet as it looked almost exactly like the Shakshouka, were very acidic and sour. This took away from the enjoyment of the dish.
The pistachio latte was really good and unexpected.
Would we come back for breakfast, not likely. I would give it another try for lunch, as they do appear to use fresh ingredients, maybe it just isn’t the best season for Shakshouka.
Would I decorate my house like the interior of this place in terms of colors, lines, and beautiful textures, absolutely! It...
