Some of my friends and I decided to go to this place (we have even been here before) but one of my friends had an international ID so they didn't let us in. So we waited outside the club since that friend decoded to go back home and had called a cab. After waiting for his cab to arrive, we entered the place but for some reason the bouncer told us to leave. We were confused, since we hadn't even gotten a chance to show him our IDs. (We all had valid passports and/or state IDs ) We tried to ask him why but he kept telling us to get out and that we're "tresspassing". The rest of the staff was watching but no one stepped in or said anything. The bouncers attitude was hostile and condescending. We couldn't understand why we were being denied entry, and it felt like we were being racially profiled. We tried to call their manager but they didn't put us through, and said "you want an explanation for what happened? Well you won't get it". Honestly I don't understand how this place is still standing in 2019. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, especially if you are a person of color. Our experience was just hurtful and shocking. Being denied entry is one thing, and not giving us a reason or a justification Is another. I hope no one else shares a similar experience but I doubt that they will change, considering the attitude of the people...
Read moreThe establishment serves food/drinks late into the a.m. This convenience was the only positive aspect of my experience last Friday evening (first and last time dining). The gyro and fries I ordered came within a timely limit. The gyro was on the dry side and not too flavorful even with the sauce that comes on it. The lack of others stars are due to the end of my experience. When I was ready to pay for my friend's drink and the food I ordered the server (receipt said krystina) dropped off my bill and I gave her my card to pay. The server returned WITHOUT my card and only the receipt for me to sign. When I commented that my card was missing, the server said that I needed to leave the tip and sign the receipt upon returning my card. No explanation, nothing. I have never heard of this practice and I even offered to leave a cash tip, but she was very demanding/ insistent on leaving the tip on the receipt before bringing back MY credit card. She even made a round by the table twice and seeing that the receipt was not signed walked off without explaining just repeating the same thing. This alone has made me extremely suspicious and uncomfortable. In addition, the friend who I was with has been to the establishment before and has never had to leave her tip and sign the receipt before the server/bartender returned the card. Very...
Read moreAfter a day of touring the city a group of 6 of us wanted to grab a bite to eat and a pint at this club/restaurant. Upon arriving at the entrance the doorman asked us for our IDs. I thought this shouldn't have been a problem - but I was extremely mistaken. As tourists we were travelling from Canada. We all had valid, government issued, identification. We are all age 25-30. The doorman refused to let us in because we were Canadian. We used the same identification to get across the border although this bar refused to let us through their doors. When asked why our identification wasn't accepted here we were not given an answer. We were sober, polite, Canadians. We asked to speak to the manager, after a 15 minute wait outside the doorman said the manager "didn't want to talk to us." We left the bar feeling highly discriminated against. No apology, no goodbye, no explanation. I wouldn't recommend this place to my greatest enemy. No human should be treated this way in...
