Poor customer service to say the least! I ordered and purchased my cupcakes over the phone 3 days prior and requested a 12:00pm pick up time. I know this place can get busy hence, why I ordered and paid ahead of time. I arrived today around 12:20pm and waited by the register while trying to get someone's attention but they were simply taking orders for people who had dropped in. People were rushing up to the register and not one staff member acknowledged me. I finally said to one of the employees (who appeared to be the manager), "Excuse me, I am here to pick up a purchased order." She looked at me before turning to another customer to take their order. So I repeated myself and she said she heard me and that I would have to wait in line with everyone else who was placing an order. So I said to her again that I already paid for my order over the phone 3 days ago and she replied that I still had to get in line. Literally everyone who was in the shop when we arrived and even some who arrived after us had been helped and had left before an employee had finally come over to help us. I mean the shop was completely cleared with the exception of one other customer. To make matters worse the employee who helped us was literally putting our order in to go boxes 3 minutes after she had retrieved our order form in the back. The "manager" then came over to me and asked me if my fiancé and I were together. I looked her in the eyes and turned my my face away as she had clearly ignored me earlier. Besides, she was of no service to us at this point since the other employee was boxing our order.
My suggestions: If you cannot fulfill the orders upon request, don't take orders and payments over the phone. Simply state that you do not take phone orders and your business is ran on a first come first serve basis.
Should you continue to take orders over the phone (especially paid orders), then ethically speaking, the items should available for pickup as promised. The order should already be packaged and placed in a designated area close to the register with their order form attached. This allows your patrons to pick up their order upon request as that is the service...
Read moreMy daughter's birthday was approaching and once again I was unable to make her cake. I am also a cake decorator so am a tad critical . I searched for several hours (I'm on medical leave as I had surgery, so lots time on my hands ) and chose Sweet Mandy Bs. I spoke to a gentleman whom was very helpful and patient as I still had pickup or delivery arrangements to make he said that the delivery would cost more than the cake. So I thanked him sorted pickup with my son in law then I called back to place my order. Later that day I called again to change the decoration on the 6in chocolate, chocolate cake my daughter's favorite. I was charged extra money for the candles on the side of the cake which I thought was a bit much (remember I decorate too) but ordered it anyway. The bday came with a call from an excited and surprised bday girl. She sent me a picture and I was shocked to see that the decoration was totally wrong, not even the original one which I had ordered. However she was pleased with it,said it tasted amazing and was very moist. The hand writing on the cake was to perfection I was happy with that as it was a small cake with a lot of writing which I was assured that would not be a problem and it wasn't. I called and left a message about the order and was immediately refunded the extra charge . I called back and spoke to the person who called me and we spoke about the cake and how and why I chose her bakery. I told her that I would use them again I was happy with the taste of the cake and professional service I received from the staff even though I really didn't care for the balloons on the cake. Not being familiar with an area and what they have to offer is difficult when it comes to special events. I am thankful for comments and ratings as they definitely helped me to choose this bakery . And I will call again. Thanks Sweet Mandy Bs for making my baby girls 19th...
Read moreHi,
I’m honestly surprised that the cake I ordered wasn’t as good as I expected it to be. This place has high ratings. I thought the cake would be 5/5 stars for me. The frosting was absolutely delicious.
Unfortunately, the cake itself was dry and didn’t taste good. It had a bread like flavor that reminded me of cornbread without sugar. The cake also didn’t match the description I asked for. I had a photo emailed and asked exactly for it to match the cake. It came back a different color of blue. I was a bit disappointed that the cake didn’t taste great or match the description. I would have appreciated if the staff told us they couldn’t do that color. That’s why I sent a photo. Why not just let me know if you cannot replicate the exact color?
We would have paid more if it had hit all the right spots. The original price was going to be over $100 so we thought this cake was going to be top tier. But when the price became $60, we wondered if it would still be a good cake 😬.
The staff on the phone was rude. The staff through email was wonderful. I’m not sure who I spoke to through email but they were an angel. If it was the same person on the phone, I am not sure what was going on. But I doubt it was because the person through email wasn’t aware that we had made the order through the phone which could have been bad if we paid twice.
I ordered this cake a couple of months in advance last year so there was definitely time for this cake to be made well.
For such a high rated cake place I am just really shocked that the cake itself was bad. The cake should be made well not just the icing. Even a cake from target or Walmart would have topped the flavor/texture of this cake. I would not normally rate a cake like this so low but it really was bad and disappointing after a long wait for it to be such a bad experience at the end...
