Great place for great food (I LOVED the pizza!), great drinks (nice variety, fair prices), great atmosphere, and great service. Every last staff member was helpful, attentive, and super nice, right from when we walked in the door, starting with the gal seating people (I'm spacing on this basic restaurant term atm), and they all went above and beyond their duties, as well as just being nice & fun people. I particularly want to thank Cameron (our server/bartender), and that gal who seated us; we were kind of on a tight schedule and she said it was no problem, suggesting we sit at the bar "if that's OK" [it was] cos we'd be right by the bartenders, which she'd explain the issue, and it worked out great! If I could, I would specify names or titles of all the other staff, as they definitely work as a team and even those on a break were keen to help out (plus, whoever made the food, the guy who brought it out to us, another bartender [I think she had longer, blonde hair] who made us a drink while Cameron was tending to another patron), but my memory is faulty - especially with names - and didn't think to write down better details than "Homeslice Cameron". ("I'll remember what I meant", lol). To the owner: you're lucky to have an all-star staff, every one of them pulling their weight and making this place a fun & relaxing one.
To anyone thinking of going there, do it! Rest assured that you will have a great time, you'll be pleased with the service and the cool staff, there's sportsball on the bar TV and music (but it's not too loud, it's nice), and you'll love the food & drinks. Oh, and btw, if you're worried about pricing, don't be. Drinks are average or even a bit less than avg for the area, and excellent quality, and the bartenders know their stuff. If you don't know which beer you'll like, ask them! They know what they're serving, and they want you to be happy with your choice. And the food, omg, it's so delicious, I can't even honestly say whether it's expensive, cos it was so WORTH it! We got a veggie pizza of some sort - memory - but it was THE BEST! I remember it had an oil/garlic-based sauce rather than a red, and mushrooms, feta cheese, and lots of other veg. And it was EXCELLENT! And actually, it was a fair bit less $$ than another place we skipped a few blocks away - and I'm so glad we did!
Tl;dr if you're in Chicago, you gotta stop...
Read moreWent here this Sunday evening for a date night with my husband and puppy. Loved the food, we got a large pizza, salad to share, two drinks and a dessert and finished every last bite. Everyone was friendly and welcoming and even very sweet to our very active puppy. My only complaint is that we werent informed that it was card only and they didn't accept cash. We had only brought an emergency card with us ( which we keep less then 100 dollars on) but more then enough cash to pay the bill and leave a generous tip. Its a pizza place with a bar and patio, so we assumed cash was fine. It wasnt posted on the menu, website, on a sign or told to us by our server upfront so when it came time to pay it was a bit awkward. We paid what we could on the card , but had no choice but to give the rest in cash as thats what we had and were not close to home to get another card. We felt a bit like we were putting them out. The only way to give us our change was through our personal Zelle account. Now we totally understand why they're doing this , as they have experienced some robberies of late. But we just wish that it had been made clear from the beginning, so we could have made more informed decisions when ordering. We appreciated them working with us, and made sure to leave a nice tip as it wasnt our servers fault, but we did feel awkward in the end. Especially when we had no choice but to give our personal number in order to get change. Which i assume was coming from our servers personal bank account, as he was using his own phone. Maybe having a sign or it even printed at the top of the menu would be helpful. I understand most people carry cards on them, but we just didn't that day. Definitely will be going back, but will be better prepared and make sure we have the right form of...
Read moreI came here on a Friday at 6pm with my family (3 of us). We made a reservation before arriving, which I recommend because at 6:30 it was very full of families. This place is kid / parent friendly for sure. It’s almost all people with kids.
They do not have a kids menu or kids cups but it isn’t a barrier because they are a pizza place with small pizzas.
We got the hummus plate to start which comes with a red pepper hummus, Kalamata olives all over the place. There were cucumber slices, sliced carrots, and pita bread. It was good. But I wish that the hummus was served in a bowl with the dippers around the bowl as opposed to everything on one plate.
Then I got the Caesar salad with blackened chicken, as a wrap with tater tots. On the menu they specify that you can do this. When I ordered it the waitress asked me several times if I still wanted the sun dried tomatoes, I said yes and she was appearing confused. It was good, not very CCSW flavored but not because of the sun dried tomato’s. I think it didn’t have enough Parmesan cheese or dressing but it was good. Just not a traditional one.
My partner got the double patty smash burger which the waitress said was her favorite. He liked it, said it was nothing special, the bun looked thick. It also came with tater tots (they were coin like tots).
My child got the small pepperoni pizza, they liked it, it’s a 4 slides pizza, great size for kids, they have lots of size options.
For drinks my child got a pink lemonade, I got the Aperol spritz, and my partner got the passion fruit frozen margarita. It was very sweet.
Over great kid-based...
