Food: My sister ordered a custom egg and bacon bagel with a pistachio latte. I ordered a spicy chicken wrap with lavender latte. Bagel was paining pressed to heat the sandwich. Not heavily loaded, but simple and filling. The pistachio latte has strong espresso notes at first taste, but slowly, you get the hints of pistachio the more you drink it. I disliked it at first, but it grew on me. The lavender latte was as expected if you've had drinks with lavendar before, well balanced, and not too much lavender syrup. The spicy chicken wrap was very light and fresh. I appreciated that the chicken was shredded and had a light spice, but not hot, just mild in spice range. It came with Lays chips, but it would have been better served with kettle chips or even veggies or fruit instead. My sister and I also split a Matcha Latte Flight for $18. It had strawberry, lavender, mango, and banana. The banana stood out most in its flavor compared to the mango, which was more underwhelming in comparison. The strawberry was comparable to strawberry milk. The lavender was just like like the lavender matcha from Starbucks. The flight was a nice experience overall. I'd try the Southside flight upon return. Food is good but not the best in the world. If anything, this is cute casual brunch stop if you're in the area.
Service: As far as service goes, staff was friendly and quick to serve. Upon entering, you must go to the counter and order. Staff will call out orders as they are ready - not necessarily by name, though, but rather by item. This can be confusing if customers ordered the same item. Additionally, as I waited, one customer was waiting on one last item that was just left on the counter but never called out to confirm that it was complete. Luckily, the customer was scanning the counter and finally asked if it was hers. It was.
Atmosphere: The decorations of this small corner café are cute, diverse, cozy, and welcoming with a Southside touch. I enjoyed the planted pots with faces and various latin-inspired heritage children books displayed. Unfortunately, due to the small space, roughly 4 to 5 people can eat in the cafe at a time when outdoor seating is not open. The space fills up with waiting customers quickly and starts to become slightly claustrophobic. Customers appeared to slowly get agitated and rude enough to not move out of the way for customers trying to...

They created a delicious winter special that includes a Chocomil and a Pecan Coquito Latte. Both tasty, the Coquito did win the flavor contest.
Is there another place to score these types of lattesâŠpossibly in the after life if you live as a kind person đ.
Seriously, I have yet to find one. Stockyard has an artistic genius to elevate latte infusing Latino culture with love and fun.
Please is small, comfy, and stylish. People are kind and quality is top notch. I canât speak to their straight espresso as for that Dark Matter hold the crown in my opinion. Yet for unique Latino style lattes, this place is a treasure.
Hot Tips! *This place is off the 57 and parking is pretty easy. *Hungry? For a classic Chicago pizza staple I prefer Connieâs Pizza (an 8ish minute drive from here). Freddieâs is closer yet a fast food place vs Connieâs is sit down (you can carry out). Otherwise Chitown (duh) is a 12-15min drive depending on traffic and also a must. *Family Friendly spots with food and drinks: Other Half is a New York brewery with a location in Bridgeport. After appropriate backlash the prices are better. Also Marz brewing that has an arcade and food varies. *Of course during baseball season Comiskey is a must whether youâre a big fan or not. Nice park and you can score bargain prices.
Enjoy!
Last years review:
Consistent quality lattes. I thought their horachata latte would reign supreme. They proved me wrong with other delicious offerings. Small, inviting, and a favorite coffee shop in a city or...
Read moreThis is my favorite coffee shop! I have never ordered a drink I didn't like and the baristas are always very warm and clearly working hard behind the counter. There was one time my sandwich order got mixed up and they offered me a dessert on the house to make up for the delay.
I love that the drinks embody a lot of heritage and culture, yet still feel very approachable! You can't go wrong ordering from their seasonal menu, from autumnal pumpkin horchata to festive coquito lattes. In February, they have more floral-inspired options that I really like. In the summer, I enjoy getting a mango sunrise (black tea base) or any of their lemonades. Whenever I'm craving something grounding and comforting, I go for their matcha horchata, so good! I've never thought to combine the two, but it makes so much sense when you do. I think I've filled maybe 3 punch cards now.
My favorite lunch item is the rajas con queso wrap (yum!!) And when it's warm, it's nice to sit by the beautiful Southside mural to enjoy my meal. The space is small, but cozy. It's a space better suited for some light reading (grab a book from the little library right in front) or chatting with some friends, rather than a full day of studying/work so that's something to be mindful of. All that to say I really love this spot (and thanks for all the caffeine I needed to get...
