Cal Java Coffee Esplanade — Restaurant in Chico

This is a nice place to go for breakfast sandwiches and coffee. I love their everything bagel breakfast sandwiches, preferably with sausage and pepperjack cheese. Also, I really love the fact that they are servicing the Enloe heroes and they are doing it with smiles on their faces and with total care.

I have gone here many times. Only thing I would recommend is to cut some deal with Enloe to provide more parking for the coffee shop. The spaces fill up quickly and there is no place close to the shop to park, sometimes finding a space nearby on the street can be a bit of a hassle. I would just recommend doing this and with the help you provide to Enloe, for their staff and patients, I think they'd help out.

I went to Cal Java on the Esplanade in Chico, because I started working in the area recently. I had one of their Fit Mochas and sausage breakfast sandwich, they were both very good, and the service was excellent. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. My husband and I have been very disappointed lately customer service in general going down hill, all over. One of the young ladies who worked there told my they also served lunch, so I went back at lunch time to try it. I got the Soup & Salad combo, with a drink, the soup was their Loaded Potato, and the salad was the Asian salad. There aren't a lot of options per se, but everything tastes great and staff is very friendly.

It's a worthwhile stop if you want a bagel sandwich and coffee or if you're just looking for coffee.

Base coffee (black or with cream/sugar) is fairly priced. It's the flavored drinks (mochas etc) that are slightly over priced. This is probably similar to a starbucks in terms of pricing but this place has more charm. It's like the hole in the wall local spot. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but definitely worth it...
