Pros: -Monstrous amount of inventory of all kinds and walk space. The most with electronics I’ve seen. -Friendly customer service. Was asked if I needed help. -A little clean but shelves can be very dirty. -Lots of unopened products. Neutral: -I find things too expensive and not worth the price here almost most of the time. Cons: -Holy cow it is expensive. I’ve been to many thrifts and Goodwills and I know Goodwills tend to be on a little bit of the pricier range these days, but this place skyrockets their prices as if it’s the only thrift in the world. Below I posted a picture of a fishing rod and reel for 15$!!! You can buy a brand new one for cheaper look it up!!! I’ve never done so many eye rolls at this thrift than other thrift stores. -They use marker on some items as if the prices weren’t as hideous enough. -No tag deals or whatever events besides a few holiday sales DESPITE BEING SO EXPENSIVE. Summary: This could have been a better thrift store if it wasn’t for the prices. I get it’s helping the employees and it’s at a bigger site, but come on these prices are ridiculous. I saw a USED HAT for $10 and a broken antique tennis racket for $15??? Play it smart is all you need here and the selections are many, but don’t expect to buy much.

Holy cow! I just left stunned and speechless. I wish I would have stayed and questioned the cashier who took my item's, (when I went to purchase them,) to the back of the store and Changed Their Prices?!?!?! Why? What? ???? I just wanted to buy two pans with lids, one was tiny and priced $.99 and the other was medium sized and priced $1.99. The cashier typed in the price of the small one as $5.99 so I questioned him and said I thought that was a dollar sign because there is a line vertically through it. So he said he needed to check the prices, as if they weren't written on there already, and took my item's away. When he brought them back suddenly they were $4.99 and $10.99! Wow??? What's with the change? And who is going to pay $10+ for a USED pan? Not Me! Wow, this was just crazy. Beware shopping here, and why bother pricing anything at all if the store is just going to have the cashier's change the prices at the register? 0/10 Rating, Terrible Overall Service. Wow, just wow....?!?!?! ~ Stunned and Confused

Not very organized and more pricy then other thrift stores in Chico. Not a very good selection for men’s clothing but they have tons of women’s clothes to choose from. The staff doesn’t seem very happy and they are not of much help.

This is to corporate and to the disgraceful manager at the Chico thrift store.

You guys do NOTHING TO HELP YOUR COMMUNITY. This store needs to be shut down, emptied out and bombed for bugs. It is dirty and the African American young 30 something year old manager needs to be fired. I have worked estate sales for many years. You can’t charge people the way you have been for DONATED ITEMS. To come into a THRIFT STORE FULL OF DONATIONS FROM MY COMMUNITY, to hear the lies the commercial ads play, to see the same blue tag sale everyday with no blue tags and high prices is disgusting. To come in and get bit by who knows what type of bed bug flea infested insect is in the store and get disrespected by a manager all for asking a price on a no tag stained sweater really makes people wanna spread the word to NOT GO TO THIS GW really says something about the reputation they want to have. I asked to pay $2.99 for this and the managers words herself “no $8.99, I make the prices up that’s what I’m charging.” Disgusting. You guys literally can’t put anything else on the floor because it’s a complete zoo. GW takes it’s customers on a whole other level of anxiety. You can’t look through the clothes because it’s so tight and hangers intertwined with each other let alone want to even buy anything because the odor and bites have you saying the heck with this. During the fires you did not help. During times of need you do not provide. The floors to the fitting rooms scream run. Let’s talk toys. PLEASE TOSS THE TRASH AND BRING BAG 0.49 cent toy bins. Get RID of the 100 naked Barbie’s it’s tacky. And hire people who are skilled in proper pricing of items YOU THINK ARE WORTH $19.99(a used Walmart jacket that sells for 9.99 brand new) THE CEO VISIONS HAVE BEEN CORRUPTION AND GREED. There are homeless families- low income or no income families in need. 75% everything so you can clean out your stock of continued donations from people who have never walked into the store let alone know the truths. It’s a shame because you can pop on over to a consignment or any other THRIFT STORE and buy for less and it’s clean. You can’t have a Ross tag on an item showing $5.99 and charge $12.99 for an old crappy 2000s mirror that has stickers all over it. Get back into touch with UNITY, COMMUNITY AND GRACE! I will let people know how much Salvation Army CONTINUES to support its community. The impact. The dedication and the simple understanding of hardships. GW is the political parties tantrums they throw when they don’t get their 6.5 million. I’ll give back by offering help to this cause in any way I can.

#makefamiliesgreatagain #lowerprices #unity #support

*the audacity to even reply all that crap is embarrassing on your end GW. $17 an hour in CA and you just cut their hours back. 30 employees working 2-4 hour shifts sure is giving back. Your store is FAR FROM CLEAN ITS A HOT ZONE FOR BED BUGS AND MORE! Do better for the community of Chico and we will be happy to help this location get back to its standards. Adding more extension racks does not solve your bug crisis let alone sanitary crisis. Maybe Butte County Code enforcement and the EHD! Complaints will be coming in.. best of wishes with that corrupted mind. This place needs to be shut down immediately and management...

I like this store, but I do NOT like its Sunday bait and switch. On Sunday they advertise half off on some color or other. But what they do is clear out on Sundays, whatever color of tag is half off. So if you wait for weeks to get something you want at half off, and you wait for that color to come up on a Sunday, and you go in to get that something, the clerks will already have pulled that item off the shelf to send it to another store, so you don't get a chance to get the item you wanted.

The logic is clear. Promote the half off thing to get people in the store, make sure the half off stuff is gone so the store doesn't take a revenue hit by selling sfuff at half off, then the people there will very likely buy full priced stuff, since they are there already. This is an excellent revenue ploy and benefits the store greatly. Unfortunately, it does not benefit the consumer. It is deceitful and dishonest and sneaky! It is a variant on the old "bait and switch" sales tactic, which is illegal. I intend to file a BBB complaint about...
