Goldsmith Cafe and Coffee Bar — Restaurant in Chippewa Falls

Where to begin. We stopped on our way through town for what we thought would be a quick bite (as most coffee shops are) before wrapping up our roadtrip. The menu was ok, mainly meat and cheese sandwiches (no veggies) with little in the way of healthy choices. Our kids had PB&J which I ordered early since I knew they were hungry. The lady at the counter didn’t think to start making these early so they came out with all the food. After we ordered it took 20 minutes to get our 4 sandwiches, none of which had anything special to them (2 where PB&J...). They came with chips and a salad - chips were plain tortilla chips without a dip and the “salad” was a pile of old shredded romaine lettuce without any other vegetables. Not sure why the romaine wasn’t just put in the sandwich. There was a bone in my chicken sandwich, which I get happens sometimes when you eat shredded chicken but just added more frustration to our visit. We ordered coffee before leaving. I wanted an espresso drink but was worried it would take another 15 min so just got a coffee. Bad choice - it was watered down and lukewarm. Kwik trip’s Coffee is significantly better. In the end our “quick stop” took over an hour, the food was subpar, we wasted $30 and are stuck drinking watered down coffee for the rest of our trip (since we don’t have time to stop for better stuff now that we spent all of our extra travel time waiting for our food).

Do yourself a favor and try another coffee...

Goldsmith Coffee Bar has been a long-time favorite lunch spot for me - both for their delicious sandwiches & amazing desserts. They also have some of the best cake! Edie made my wedding cake & it was perfect! We received so many compliments about how good the cake was. Goldsmith will always be one of my topic recommendations - whether you are looking for a bite to eat or desserts...

With a low-key, easygoing atmosphere, laughter, and hometown warmth, this is a nice place to enjoy coffee and more with friends. Home-made desserts in the showcase and creative, humorous names on the board for beverages and used for the other menu offerings. Although I have not had a meal (yet!), what I've seen looks very good, and customers appear to enjoy...
