Sushi House is a South San Diego sushi staple, and is my personal favorite sushi spot in the entire city. I love that it’s never a gamble to come here and really enjoy the food you eat for very decent prices. It’s actually become a family dine in and to go classic which is another thing I really like about this place; they don’t play about to go orders and the quality doesn’t change wether you are dining there or taking it back home. Now however, I’ll offer my recommendations: Appetizers - Gyoza are ok, I personally like the Miso Soup to start although it’s nothing special. Rolls - Crunchy Roll (Krab), Lion King Roll (Baked Salmon), Chula Vista Roll (California w Cream Cheese), Rainbow Roll, Telegraph Canyon Roll (Tuna, JalapeƱo), Fire Roll (Spicy FR), TJ Roll (Citrusy Mariscos Flavor). Bowls - Chicken Teriyaki Bowl (4.95$🤯), Sushi Rice Bowl (Sushi House Original Dish) Bento Boxes - 2 Item is 9.95$, 3 Item is 13.95$ (Get the Grilled Teriyaki Chicken or the Fried Sweet and Sour Chicken & Get a roll, it can be a speciality one from the other side of the menu for a little extra charge). Kitchen - Chicken Fried Rice What we got this time, and I posted pictures of, was the Telegraph Canyon Roll, a Tuna topped California roll with mayo sauce and fresh jalapeƱos. After we got it, my dad offered me some to try out, and even though I’ve never really liked tuna based sushi rolls and declined, he insisted I tried it and it honestly was really good. The next is the Chula Vista Roll; it was good but it tastes exactly like a Cali roll which was underwhelming. I recommend instead the Lion King Roll, or a Crunchy Roll if you’ve never had it from here before. We also got ourselves a famous Sushi Rice Bowl which is a Sushi House classic that I’ve never found anywhere else. It’s just sushi rice with krab, cream cheese, avocado, mayo, and eel sauce which leaves you so satisfied and it’s one of the most delicious sushi dishes I’ve had, literally a family classic. We also can’t forget the Chicken Fried Rice which is another star of the family meal, as I can confidently say it’s one of my all time favorite fried rices I’ve ever tried in my life. The portion is also super generous, and you can easily split it with 4 people to accompany the rolls. I really can’t underestimate how much we as a family love this place, but I’m hoping that other people who’ve never had the chance to dine here get to experience a true gem here in Chula Vista. It’s had its ups and downs, but we’ve always stayed loyal customers and I like that they’ve never tried to take advantage of their customers financially, even when it would probably reap some quick results. This place is 100% a community spot, one that has kept us here in Chula fed for decent prices with some really fire food, and for that they will always have my buisness and respect. I’ve had only 1 single bad interaction in my entire time coming to eat at this restaurant (10+ years), and I can’t hold it against them because they’ve proven me time and time again that they’re not slackers on quality or service. Much love to the owners and employees and overall, DAYGOEATSCERTIFIEDāœ…āœ…šŸ“‹

I come here about once every other month. My last visit was on Sunday for mother's Day. The quality of the sushi has been declining ever since covid shutdown. This time around we ordered edamame, was served cold, didn't know it was an option. The fire roll, which is one of our favorites and we order every time was missing some of the jalapeno. The spicy shrimp that I've ordered another places, usually has the shrimp marinated in the spicy sauce and then put inside the roll. This time around it was inside the role but the spicy was just spread outside on top of the roll. The sriracha sauce was watered down heavily! As was the sauce provided with the gyoza. The Philadelphia roll, was missing salmon in some of the pieces. Water in cups is is no longer an option, but bottled water is offered. Ginger was not included with some of the sushi. Had to keep asking these past few times. And of course what everybody's complaining about is the Styrofoam plates/bowls and plastic forks make the sushi less appealing and not environmental friendly. Time to start looking for a new sushi place!!.

We love coming here! We’ve been coming here for over 10 years and not much has changed except the service has gotten better. You can’t really go wrong with any of the sushi’s but our favorite are the lion King, the Philadelphia roll, the spicy roll, the jalapeƱo roll or the Crunchy roll and we usually get the 3 item bento boxes as well. I feel like you get a lot of bang for your buck with the bento boxes because they will keep you full most of the day. we usually get the teriyaki or chicken Katsu with the vegetable tempura and the California roll. on those days where my kids want some to take home the chicken fried rice is one of the best in Chula Vista. It does get really full during your typical lunch hours so the wait might be a little bit longer, but I think it’s a good sign that people keep coming back. Overall, I don’t think we are going to stop going unless we move or something lol

I went here last year twice with my sister for sit-in service. The food was good, service was okay, but the restaurant itself is far too small, the tables are packed and it's hot inside. However, I just visited yesterday with my mom and grandmother. We ordered to-go as we were going to someone's house.

I ordered my usual - a caterpillar eel roll. They took over 15 minutes to make the roll. It was extremely small. Perhaps 1/3 smaller than the size of standard rolls. It had no eel in most slices and very little in the rest. They didn't even put the unagi sauce on the roll. The service was very sup-par. They did not give me a receipt nor write down what I had ordered, and they had to ask me twice what I had ordered while I was waiting. Again, the place is incredibly small. There is only one seat, tucked in a corner and in full sun for you to wait with. The other 2 in my party had to stand outside while I waited. Not sure what I would have done if someone else was getting to-go at the same time as we all would have had to wait outside, and there was no receipt for me or them to know what I ordered.

If i'm getting charged the same as a sit-in meal, the food and service should be of the same quality. Until these quality issues are fixed, this location is not worth stopping at, and especially so if you are getting to-go or have a party...

HORRIBLE SERVICE. For the past 3 times i've been there, something was ALWAYS wrong. First off, the service is horrible. The lady that i believe is the manager is RUDE and talks back. I made an order to-go before, and went to go pick it up to pay with card and she goes "Sorry our machine isn't working. Cash only." then i ask how long this has been going and she replies "all day..." gee thanks, it would have been helpful if you told me this on the phone so i wouldn't have to drive here. Every time i dine in, the service is horrible. And today i went in to pick up an order to-go, and my total came out to $8, which sounded odd to me because i usually only pay $6 since i get the same thing every time! I ask why am i being charged more and the girl at the front told me "because you asked for spicy mayo and eel sauce on top." When they NEVER charged me to add it on top of my sushi ever before, and when i explained that to her she was really rude and kept replying "it's always been that way," when really it hasn't, because i get the same thing every time and have always been charged $6. Wow. That lady in particular is...
