Vanitea Cafe — Restaurant in Chula Vista

This review is for my phone interaction with a barista who “wasn’t comfortable” providing her name because she was terrible over the phone and probably didn’t want it to come back to her. But she was working at 2:50pm when I placed an online order and then called immediately. I requested my order be canceled as no time or materials were wasted on making drinks because I called immediately to cancel my order and a refund wasn't offered or yet given.

I live in rancho, but when I opened up their ordering system this location was pre-selected as my pick up and I didn't realize it until the order was placed. Screenshot of the order below shows location, order pick up time, and the time the order was placed. I immediately dialed their number, and let them know I ordered to their location when I meant to order to the rancho location. The girl was laughing at me, told me "we're not really supposed to" cancel the order and refund customers who order to the wrong location. I politely pleaded that I live way too far and called right away asking them to cancel. She then tried to tell me (while giggling) that they had already made the order, so my choice was to come pick it up. I got upset and said that's a lie because I placed the order and immediately called them to cancel. My time stamped order and time stamped phone call prove this despite her claim that it had already been made. She put me on hold and then came back giggling saying her manager wasn't there and it was just her and other baristas. She said I could email their manager and told me the info is found on their website. I asked for her name for reference. She told me she's "not comfortable" sharing her name and then just hung up the phone on me. I'm so upset and dumbfounded at this "procedure" as she called it. So this was our first time at this place. We arrived around 10:30pm. Ok, so normally we are not the folks that even attempt to go to a place that is closing soon. When we walked in we’re told chef had left so only certain things were available (not best way to start but ok totally understandable right). Second, I did tell the guy at the cashier we needed a few minutes to look over menu before we order (Just stands there staring until we order). It’s just common curtesy to let ppl look at the menu for a few minutes and not stare at them like ok I’m just waiting on you. Thirdly, we were told we could purchase from them at this time but had to wait outside for items because they were closing soon. What?!! so are you closed or open?! I know people that get there soon before closing it’s annoying but that is part of running a business. If you are still open then you need to be open. Normally businesses close doors at closing time but you don’t accept business and kick ppl out. The way that this was handled I don’t think I will make another visit with so many...

First time in this place. Terrible! I had the avocado snow and it didn't even taste like avocado. Later on I find out that they make their drinks are made from POWDER. I've been on MANY boba places from different cities and this is the worst boba place I've ever been to.. and apparently the boba is made from honey. And yet I don't even taste the honey. Artificial. Bland. Not worth the money. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

For the owner who responded. No I am not wrong this is the place where I got my drink. We saw you guys put powder in them. I even asked what it was and they said "this is our ube flavor" (that was with another drink we saw being made). There isn't even ANY fresh fruit in the building.
