The restaurant is very nice and clean. They get an A on the aesthetics inside and out. Unfortunately, i was not pleased with the service and the food. I've been eating at the original Erick's tacos that is on nacogdoches Rd for a long time, so I had expectations. You are asked to pay first when dining in and even asked for a tip before being served. I spent $80 today to feed my family of 5. We waited at our table with no chips and drinks. After about a decent 15 minute wait we received our food drinks and chips. I had two beef fajita tacos with avocado. My tacos had holes on the tortilla, i can tell that the tortillas were handmade there, but let me tell you that it would have been a better idea if they used tortillas from the grocery store down the street. The fajitas were terrible. My kids bean and cheese tacos were terrible. They didn't even finish them, and they love bean and cheese tacos. The tortillas used in those tacos were just as disappointing. My wife's asada tacos were bland, and just had a rare taste to them. Just as we finished our food and i thought that i was done forking over cash for subpar tex-mex, the familia asked me for ice cream and Mexican snacks from their snack bar. I dropped another $26 (including tip) for 1 terrible corn in the cup, 1 raspa, 1 takis & cheese, & 1 hot Cheetos and cheese. Chale! The last image imprinted in my memory that I have of this restaurant is the beautiful art work on the wall and that one image of the owner driving a taco truck wearing a huge grin on his face as if he is laughing all the way to the bank. LoL... No...
Read moreErik’s just recently opened and the service was awful!! The 2 stars is being generous and only because some of the food was good. The service definitely needs to be worked out for the busy times to keep up with the demand and employees need to be trained on cleanliness. When food was delivered to table the waitress sat the tray of plates on a dirty table and a very dirty napkins blew onto one of our plates and she took it off and served us. Gross!! The queso spilled on the tray she wiped the queso up with napkin trying to scoop it back into the bowl and tried serving us with it double gross!!! ( I told her absolutely not to get us a fresh one ) the waitress dropped a steak knife on one of us and laughed and said hope your not bleeding to death . So rude!!!! Some of the silverware was dirty ( disgusting) . Some of order was wrong and no one wanted to fix it. We asked to speak to a manager and was told no manager was available. They were super busy and overwhelmed with the demand but that is no excuse for the bad unhealthy service that was provided. The place seems to have a nice vibe and I wish them nothing but success but the service and employees needs to be trained up to do better. For the price we paid we were really...
Read moreThe atmosphere was clean, the staff was staying busy cleaning tables and tending to four tables with customers, and the music was entertaining. To say the least, I was very disappointed with today's visit; our first visit. I placed an order to be picked up that included one strawberry smoothie, two fruit cups, one coconut raspa/snow cone with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and one strawberry fresca. The two plain fruit cups (had no chamoy, tajin, etc) and were served with fruit that had absolutely no taste to them and the snow cone/raspa had no blue coconut taste; it was watered down syrup with a scoop of ice cream on top. The way the raspa/snow cone was served was a surprise to me, because other snow cones I've had serve the ice cream on the bottom or the middle of the cup. I paid $25+$5 tip. It just feels like a complete waste to buy something to eat and it does not have any flavor to it. *Editing- to add that I didn't notice any of this until I arrived home. First impressions at a restaurant are a big deal for me, but so is giving a second chance to redeem themselves. Buying fruit can be tricky, I...
