Indio Restaurant — Restaurant in Cicero

I had to do a post on this place. Please know that I love Mexican food, so when I see a new spot to try, I get very excited! My boyfriend and I decided to try Indio and I must say the atmosphere or better yet the waitresses were not too friendly. I don't know if it was because we were people of color and but no one asked us if we needed help. We stood there waiting to be seated and no one talked to us. We were really hungry and excited to try out this cozy establishment. My boyfriend decided to just order to go. I did not order anything or eat any of his food. Didn't even want to touch it. I will never go back to that place. You don't care for me, then you don't care for my money. I would have given this place a zero if I could. Terrible vibes in there. If you are not Mexican, then this place is not for you. You will not get a smile or a how can I help you. I will continue to patronize places like La Pasadita, Arturo' s, Fuego Loco, and Maravillas. First, let me say. The place is packed, and there was a long line of people waiting to eat, so they must be doing something right.

As for my experience. I didn't care for it, and I'll never go back. Even if I'm in the area, I'll walk an extra block to go somewhere else.

No complimentary chips. It was about 12:30 PM. I asked for Huevos con Papa y Chorizo. I was denied. They do not serve breakfast all day. So, I asked for 2 tacos. 1 Carne Asada and 1 Taco de Guisado de Bistec.

Again, I was denied. They didn't have Guisado de Bistec. How do they not have it so early in the day?

Okay, fine! 2 tacos de Carne Asada.

I asked for coke in the bottle. I was denied. They only had cans of coke.

The food was okay. It was not terrible, but I was disappointed. It was ok at best.

To summarize. Everything I asked for they didn't have and no complimentary chips.

Great food, no doubt. Been going there for as long as I can remember, but I don’t think I’ll be ordering from there again. I recently ordered some food through DoorDash and got 2 taco dinners. Obviously more expensive than just buying the tacos, but when we opened up the bag there were no beans or rice. Inconvenient, but I figured I would call the restaurant and see if they could help us out. We called but the lady I spoke to was absolutely no help at all. All she was able to tell me was that they don’t have a system which allows them to see the orders. Didn’t even apologize or offer to simply get us the beans and rice that we paid for. Mind you we were charged $12.75 for 3 tacos and $9 for 2 tacos. Even if they don’t have a system in which to see orders, can’t you tell by the price that we ordered dinners? Really upset because I actually loved this restaurant...
