Pathetic food, horrible service and intolerable attitude of the guy handling our order.
To begin with, the food we ordered was totally bland - by far, the worst hummus ever tasted (no salt at all), really bad garlic sauce as well (on top of that, the complimentary pita bread that should be served at the beginning was served with our entrée) We had to call the person out to get us our garlic sauce (which is normally provided with the pita bread) Now coming to the entrée, I have had better Mediterranean food than this, so I was clearly not impressed. On top of that, the food was quite pricey for the quality we had. By now I was convinced I wasn’t going to give any tip because I was just not happy. So when I went to pay my bill, I just paid for the food. This angered the person collecting our payment (who was the same person that served us) This is when he started lecturing us about giving tip. And this was not a dignified way of speaking by any means. He starts by saying that we are in America and we ought to give him a tip. He starts shouting at us because according to him, he is not washing our dishes for free. And then he lectures us that he could have added gratuity in the bill but he wanted to see our attitude. All this because he thinks he deserves a tip. I would have actually left a decent tip had he spoken in a dignified manner, but he convinced me he deserved none. Frustrated by this time because of his loud and brash tone, I left a dollar in tip and left, vowing never to return back ever again. This was the worst experience of all the Mediterranean food I ever had. To top it off, the server/ receptionist just made our day!
I hope people having food at this restaurant try other Mediterranean places and realize just how bad and pricey this restaurant is. Also, I hope the guy learns the meaning of customer service. Demanding a tip doesn’t mean we ought to give one, you earn it by your service, even if your food...
Read moreHorrible experience ! I’ve heard about this place for years and finally decided to try it with my husband. We arrived about 8:45 on a Friday. There were only 2 other couples seated who left shortly after we arrived. So after 15-20 mins we were the only customers. The strawberry margarita was good but my husbands Long Island was pure alcohol. He couldn’t even enjoy it. We ordered the fried spinach and feta cheese pastries for an appetizer. It wasn’t bad in taste, but it was dripping with grease and noticeably over cooked. The flakes from the pastry would literally fall apart while picking it up. They never once picked up the dirty plates from the appetizers. Our entrees were mediocre, the rice on both of our plates were room temperature. The waiter never once checked on us after serving the entrees. Never asked if the food was ok or if we needed anything, just disappeared. At one point I had to go retrieve our waiter from the front because we had no napkins and to ask for extra Tahiti sauce. My husband then had to retrieve her again to ask for the check. When complaining about the poor service and meal the waiter then became combative and argumentative. She stated “I’ve been in the business 25 years I’ve never had these issues” and “I’m sorry I have side work. I can’t just sit around and talk”. I had to interject her twice in order to deescalate the situation and hand us the check. Would not...
Read moreWhatever you do, do NOT patronize this restaurant. It is the most overpriced restaurant in the entire Cincinnati region. Sure there are more expensive restaurants, but for the value received this one is at the bottom of the barrel. The food is mediocre at best, the service is deplorable, and the belly-dancer just keeps turning her music up way too loud and doesn't understand that this form of dancing is meant to accentuate the dining experience, no be 'in your face' the entire meal. When my wife wanted to substitute a vegetable kabob for a chicken one, the wait staff (who is also an owner), wouldn't substitute it but forced her to have it as an 'add on' and then proceeded to charge us $10 for one tiny skewer that had onions, peppers, and one tomato piece. It was laughable! We had nothing, nada, zero alcohol to drink, I did not tip well due to the above, and the bill was still $100.00. That's $100.00 for a cheap, poorly presented meal in an ambiance and environment that is just one step above a diner --clearly not anything to write home about. My wife and I left feeling angry and betrayed. Not only will we not return, we will go out of our way to ensure that our extended friends and family are never subjected to this type of usury. The feeling you get from beginning to end of this dining experience is that they just want your money by charging exorbitant prices. ...
