I just have to say thank you to all the hard-working staff. It's your efforts that make this place what it is. It's easy to see why this is local favorite and for many the go-to restaurant. The prices were low and I was really surprised by that.. Some of the regular diners were also helpful at making sure I ordered the proper breakfast, they wanted to make sure I had a good proper Cincinnati style breakfast 😀. One of the things that I ordered was kinda like a hot dog with a TON of shredded cheese . I think it was called a Connie? The locals will know . Delicious. My wife had a traditional breakfast bacon and eggs . It was also nice to see how the staff treated the local residents of Cincinnati with a lot of patience and kindness and love. The obviously know what they're doing they've been serving the people since 1965 I think ? This restaurant was recommended to me by a staff member that works at the famous sign museum just up the street... Another must see place. The only thing that I didn't quite like was the coffee. I'm not sure if I got a bad batch or what but it wasn't quite to my taste. Perhaps I can bring them down some Tim Hortons tins of coffee next time 😅😅🇨🇦🇨🇦 thanks again for the great food . It's a place I highly recommend
It is also location for a few movies that were filmed there ( for all those movie...
Read moreReally awful experience at The Blue Jay today. When we arrived, there was a line and a sign telling people to seat themselves. We did, as did others, but we were then chastised for not waiting to be seated. We ordered at the same time as the others who sat down when we did (and who were also chastised), but waited an hour for our food. When we inquired about why we hadn’t been served, we were told they were slammed and were filling orders as they were received. It took another 15 minutes for our food to come out. We never got a refill on coffee during the entire wait or a visit from the waitress to ask if we needed anything or explain why it was taking so long. When the food finally came, again, there was no apology or explanation, no acknowledgement at all that we’d been waiting so long that everyone else we’d come in with had been replaced by people who were beginning to get food. We know mistakes get made but to forget our check or get so slammed that only our food doesn’t come out deserves an apology. And the food wasn’t even that good. Definitely...
Read moreOk so this is on the Cincinnati chili trail and has been marked as a lot of people's favorite so I had to try it. We got in quickly, it's seat yourself so be prepared to hangout waiting for a table to be bussed after a group gets up (which is really quick). The bar is also a good choice (it reminds me of the old school soda bars or diner bars, stools and all). We sat down right after the table was bussed and a large group of people sat at the bar but the wait staff didn't slow down a beat. Are drinks were out shortly after that. After chatting with our server we found out that she is the granddaughter of the founder of blue Jay restaurant and is helping run it now. I am gluten free so chili places can be challenging for me (Cincinnati Chili especially) but she made me feel right at home and got our orders made quickly and it was very very good. It's hard to rate places without having them next to each other but as far as Cincinnati Chili goes this is easily in the top 3...
