Avoid this place at all costs it's filthy and the food is completely disgusting and inedible! And even that's an understatement! I have NEVER left a review for anything, ever, but I had to for this place because of how unbelievably awful it is. I'm also not one who usually has issues with the cleanliness of a restaurant nor am I a picky eater or one to complain about food but this place is downright nasty.
You can look at the floor and just see that it hasn't be clean in months if not years, no joke. Almost every tile is cracked or broken. One area where the cooler is was so messed up you can't even open the door all the way to get a drink because the floor is so broken and uneven.
What's more is the food is horrible! Being a vegan, restaurants that I can eat at are few and far between so when I found this place online I was excited to try it. And looking at their website it makes you believe that is an amazing vegan staple in Cincinnati but don't let that fool you like it did me. I paid $20.50 for an approximately 4 1/2" vegan meatball sub, full order of cesar salad with BBQ tofu (which is a $2 add on and doesn't even remotely taste like bbq) and a "large" order of "crack" n cheese (their version of mac and cheese). The "large" order of "crack" n cheese was as big as if you cupped your two hands together and was so old and dried out it was completely inedible. It was obvious that it has been made and baked days ago and reheated for my order. GROSS! Oh and I didn't order any so I can't attest to the taste but the pizza by the slice that is in a glass case by the register looks like they had made it a few days ago and as customers came in and ordered a slice they just reheated it.
Again, everyone should avoid this place at all costs! If I could give it negative stars I would. If you're looking for a GOOD vegan restaurant got to the loving hut!...
Read moreThis used to be my only pizza spot, I'd swing by at least twice a month. Since the change in ownership, the menu items I ordered most have been removed and I see more emphasis on "fake meat" over the unique vegetarian pizzas previously on the menu year round (namely the Le Sigh and the Dig the Fig).
The trinkets have been removed from the front window, and the dining area has been undergoing construction for a while now, but it definitely doesn't cultivate the same crunchy and unique environment that it once did.
That all said, the most disappointing change is the interaction that I've had with the new ownership. I used to be able to swing by while on my way to run errands and put in a scheduled order for pickup an hour or so later, but that's not a thing they do anymore. The owner came out from the back to explain to me, more than once and fairly condescendingly, that I could place the order online or call in about 20 minutes before I would be able to swing by, "because it really messes up the kitchen to do scheduled orders" (like most everyone else can do and this exact establishment used to do). I was also told that "no one" ordered the menu items that were removed when I first expressed some disappointment on seeing the new menu. This is the main reason I don't want to come back and try anything new.
The couple of times that I have swung by since the new owners took over the quality of the pizza has remained roughly the same and the general staff behind the counter have been lovely. I'm sad to say, this just isn't my pizza...
Read moreI really like this place, it's one of my favorite spots in Northside. Their pizza is my favorite in the area. The seasoning is great and the crust is a bit plain but I like it. Service has always been pretty friendly in my experience, and I like their waiting area with the plants. I unfortunately knocked off a star because, although I always love their pizza, I decided to try the mac and cheese since it had some good reviews and I wanted to have more of the menu before writing a review. And maybe it's just me, but it was almost certainly the worst mac and cheese I've ever had by far, extremely bad. I had only a few bites before giving up on it. The vegan cheese was completely inedible, I think it had some sort of metallic flavor to it (maybe from the dish? or maybe the cheese just tastes like that?), and the pepper didn't really help at all. This is still a great spot in general, and I'll definitely keep getting pizza here on the regular, I just can't recommend the original mac and...
