They got all of their stars, from me, for the staff and for the bands they book; Kromcore books for them, though IDK if that's who does all of it, if they accomodate other promoters, as well, or how they operate in that respect, honestly. All I know is that I've been impressed with the acts they have hosted. They do a good job of promoting, as is reflected in the sizable crowds in attendance. I've seen Kool Keith and Subhumans there, to give an idea of the variety of acts that have performed here.
The stars that the venue alone would otherwise be getting from me would be about 3-ish. This is mainly due to the interior set-up from entrance to stage; it's kind of a bottle neck til you're halfway in, where it opens up a little wider. The stage is straight through, against the back wall, parallel to the door where you enter and pay the cover charge. They do offer will call as well, for tickets purchased in advance, online. They go by the name of the person who bought the tickets, so you're not required to print anything.
The patio is spacious, enclosed with a high fence; there is a bar (complete with stools) and tables (picnic tables, I think). I've never seen this bar in operation, during my visits, but this is limited to a total number of two occasions.
The rest of the establishment is apparently located upstairs. I've never ventured beyond the aforementioned spaces, so I'm no authority. However, it is observable from the patio that another upper level patio can be accessed by stairs along the same wall with the door between patio & interior space; the stairs are on the outside of the wall, on the interior side of which would be next to the stage. Another show was going on simultaneously to the one I came for, last time I was there.
I've never bought any drinks there but I believe the bar to be located on the upper level. It appears to be accessible via stairs inside (from the patio through a door next to the bar, perpendicular to the doorway from venue to patio/parallel to the front-stage edge & the building's back wall). Being that Cincinnati is so close to Kentucky (& from my observations of others' consumption), I assume that the bourbon selection is fairly good. I know nothing more than this; a friend bought my husband a Seven & 7, and me an ice water: both served in actual glassware.
The parking situation is limited to the streets nearby. The way this place is situated is such that you are well advised to use maps or another such app that offers GPS guidance, if you've never been or are coming from out of town.
It's not my favorite place to see a band, but as long as they keep booking the bands we want to see (and they're not booked somewhere closer to/in Columbus, where we live), we'll gladly patronise Northside Yacht Club again & again. We've followed Kromcore on social media to be sure that we stay posted on all of...

I will say this place is one of my favorites to drink at in Northside. Good beer selection and awesome patio.
However, I stopped by for lunch and it was disappointing. I got possibly the worst mixed drink I’ve ever had. Ended up being a glass of Coke with a shot of rum on top. Now don’t get me wrong I like strong drinks, but at the very least consistent. The first 2-3 sips was straight rum, the rest was watery Coke. Now to the food. I got a chicken Caesar salad with poutine on the side. The salad was atrocious. Fatty chicken with croutons that were cut way too big. I get better salads at Thornton’s gas station for 1/3 of the price. The poutine was pretty bad too. Fries were way too salty to put salty gravy on. The gravy was lukewarm at best, the cheese was still cold from the fridge. Good poutine should be melting the cheese with hot gravy and fries that are thick cut and hot. This was none of that. I wouldn’t be posting this if it wasn’t outrageously expensive too. $30 for very subpar food and one drink wasn’t what I had in mind for lunch. I love coming here to drink but the food needs a vast improvement. Chameleon is setting the bar for food in the area, go there if you want great food at...
Read moreI personally don’t post reviews but after what that other guy said, I had to post about my amazing experiences here in response.
I have just recently turned 21 and didn’t really know where to start going out to have a good time. This place came recommended to me and after my first stop here I knew this would be my bar of choice going forward. When I first went, the bartender Chris chatted with me for a good while and made me really feel welcome. I stayed there for a couple hours getting introduced to everyone that worked there. It was an amazing first impression.
This place absolutely rocks. It’s a nautical-themed bar with punk rock energy and a fun dose of humor on top. Their food is absolutely delicious, and their drinks are wonderful. Every time I’ve come here I’ve been welcomed to nothing but kindness from the staff and exceptional service. And the regulars here are also awesome. Their homemade drinks like their alcoholic capri sun are awesome. The music they play is great too.
Of the bars I’ve been to so far, this is one the only one I’ve felt truly welcomed into. This place has a wonderful atmosphere and even better service. If you’re looking for a cool place to grab a drink and some dinner...
