MUST READ BEFORE PLACING ONLINE ORDERS
Ordered online for a delivery order. An hour after placing the order they cancelled it. Tried to call to find out why and they wouldn’t answer the phone. This store is absolutely the worst. They take forever to make an order, they screw the majority of it up every single time, and now this experience. Will never go back.
Update: still have not received the money back for the order THEY cancelled even though they were OPEN when we placed it. Was told they have 12 days to release the money. Will let you know on Thursday if they paid us back for the money they took.
Update number 2: Well we are officially 16 days since the order was placed with no refund. I was able to find out that on the day we placed the order, the store had closed at 6:00pm due to the threat of severe weather. Which makes sense. What doesn’t make sense is why the store itself was closed but people were still able to place orders both on DoorDash and Wendy’s own website when the store was closed. But I digress. Spoke with DoorDash who said that they had to escalate the refund to Wendy’s and it would take another few days. Decided to call the franchise office for Wendy’s and was told that they couldn’t see the order so we were able to email them the online receipt along with the statement from my account showing where the money had come out of it. They called back and said I had called the franchise office and I needed to call the corporate office. Now when I had originally called they had told me they were going to look it up and “should” be able to get me a refund. Why didn’t they tell me then that I had called the wrong place. Regardless, still no refund and now feeling as though I am getting the run around. Will post another update as soon as it is available.
Update number 3: Well, waited on hold for over 20 minutes before anyone even answered the phone at corporate. Was immediately placed on hold again after telling the woman who did answer the phone the whole story. She said I needed to speak with a supervisor. She was unable to find one so came back on the line to tell me that she didn’t think that they could issue a refund because it was a delivery order and that she believes DoorDash has to issue the refund but sent me to the voicemail of a manger anyway. So now I am waiting for a return call. And as you can clearly see, we begin the act of running in circles and passing the buck to attempt to get a refund on money they were never owed because they cancelled the order. Essentially, they stole money. They took money they were not owed and are trying to get out of giving it back. A HUGE BUSINESS WHO WOULDN’T EVEN NEED TO SWEAT $67.50!!! DO NOT USE THEIR ONLINE APP!! Honestly, I think this should be enough to make you want to avoid Wendy’s as a whole. It sure is for me.
Update 4: Called DoorDash and surprise, surprise, we now have to wait on a manager to call back. I legitimately hope people are reading this in it’s entirety because they need to understand that this is us fighting over an order placed 16 days ago, that was cancelled by the restaurant about an hour and a half after it was placed. With delivery fees and tip, the total that Wendy’s and/or DoorDash is trying to keep is $67.50. They both keep pointing fingers at each other and not being of any help whatsoever. Neither are willing to process the refund. We are at the end of the business day, on a Friday, 16 days after they took money they were not owed and still NOTHING has been resolved. At this point, do the the way both of these companies chose to conduct business, and handle refunds, and the fact that they both feel it is ok to keep money that they were not owed, I would recommend avoiding Wendy’s in general, and DoorDash, altogether. I am not sure how often this happens, but you all know that $67.50 is kind of a big deal to us little guys but both of those big companies wouldn’t miss that amount of money on their worst day. On the night of April 2nd my wife had placed an order through the Wendy’s app, we waited for about a good hour and a half and the store had canceled it so we put in for a refund (which come to find out they did close due to severe weather threats, not at all a problem in my eyes but the money was taken from my account so you’d think they’d issue a refund) We waited for a few days then called ( they referred us to door dash since the Wendy’s app delivers through DoorDash) to which we were told they have 12 business days to issue the refund. After calling several more times with basically no update it has now been well over 12 business days and still no money, my wife calls DoorDash AGAIN and gets referred to the Wendy’s store to which they ended up giving her the corporate number and has been on hold with them for over 30 minutes to get our money back… this is unacceptable, normally not one to cause a huge fit but I feel like this is absolutely ridiculous when we have the proof of the money being removed from our bank account and we have proof of the order number and such.
Update: my wife is still on the phone with them trying to get our money back and is unable to speak with any supervisor or anything as of now.
Update as of 23 days later STILL NO MONEY but don’t worry they did add $10 dollars to the offer section in the app that we won’t be using and they said that the refund issue has been escalated. Absolutely ridiculous, stay away from DoorDash and Wendy’s at all costs!!!!
On a side note the service is also terrible, don’t ever go there if you’re in a rush because no matter how slow it is you will be there for an hour, they will answer the drive through speaker and immediately put you on hold with no other cars in the lot, and 9 times out of 10 your order will be messed up. The food was cold would not even melt my cheese.. you need new managers to be there with the teenagers.October11th/2024 @10:00-1015.,, it will be the last time i get food from here.... .pm.So here we go again Sept 24th/2024,, you have all the young woekers parking in customers parking and been running in and out of Eendys having a party day in the parking lot,, instead of woeking youve had like 4 of them outside playing together.. ( their girlfriends sit right up front just waiting for them to come baxk out and hang out with themm 8pm-8:30 pm).. I have got to say, this is one of the worst run Wendys I've ever seen.. My first time I watch A manager Lexi ,for day shift August 30/ 2024,, to lazy to go out to the shed and get lids for everyone's drinks,, she made her help tell customers there were no lids,, I was a witness to another man trying to get his hamburger remain because they made the first 1 wrong, he said it took them over 20-25 min to fix 1 hamburger ( this is all in Lexis shift), I work in the food beverage since 1987, she should be teaching her employees how to win for them and get all 5 stars,, not howcto fail,, she needs to be watched and retrained or fired.. I will add my soda picture later,, because she was to lazy to go to shed.. This order was at 7:49-8 pm.. I hope you look at the camera, and instead she left the building.. Worst manager ever in food and beverage.. too much playing in the cars in the parking lot,, a manager needs to sit in parking lunch and watch what they are doing... Managers....
