Caliburger Tampa — Restaurant in Citrus Park

This is not a burger you compare to the "gourmet burgers" out there, and it is not a fast food burger, food here is made to order. I have been wanting to try this permanently parked food truck for over a year. Reviews were good but noticed some bad ones recently, so it was my turn. I live by a simple knowing, when burgers or beefs are messy, they are good! I've never had a messy burger that was not good. I had their staple, the California burger and really enjoyed it. I would not recommend eating it in your car or at your work desk. I went through a bunch of napkins. Very cheesy and it even has some potato chips on it for texture. The bread got more and more soggy as I devoured it, a good thing in my burger world. The cheese just oozed out the sides, mmmmm. The fries are GREAT! I ate half of them before snapping a photo. We took the food home and fries still hot and crispy, a major plus in my book. I want to try some of the Latin items on their menu next. But overall, I enjoyed this "sloppy" tasty burger and fries. First time ordering from this place and boy, oh boy was it a mistake! Called my order in on a Thursday afternoon (which meant it was DEAD), told the woman taking my order that I'd like to order their "Picada" and that I would like for it to be lightly fried. In other words NOT BURNT! I always make sure to mention this when I order these type of fried dishes because the cooks tend to over fry the meats, leaving them extremely dry. Well this is what I received! I'm glad I mentioned that I didn't want it over cooked because I can just imagine what it would've looked like if I hadnt.... My experience at the restaurant was quite disappointing. The meats served were noticeably dry and lacked the freshness one would expect from made-to-order meals. Upon arrival, I couldn't help but notice a large number of pre-made burgers stacked on the grill and a pan of fries already prepared. Additionally, the meats were sitting in pans on top of the grill to stay warm, which affected their texture, making them resemble jerky rather than tender cuts. The fries suffered from excessive moisture, resulting in a soggy consistency. The only saving grace of the meal was the assortment of flavorful sauces offered.
