Ok! I found it! I have been looking for my favorite fig pizza since December. My favorite so far had been Roma’s in Kennebunkport Maine believe it or not. But I finally made it to Romans in Batavia yesterday!! I had a feeling this would be at the top and I was right. 100% worth a 2 hour RT from Buffalo. It’s hard to compare pizza because all pizza is good and they are all different. Most of my adult life I have loved -NY pizza best. ( Koronets upper west side near Columbia!) After living in Rochester NY for awhile I learned to appreciate other real Italy style pizza. But I’m on a fig kick so —— I went in at an odd time and ordered the pizza at the bar. I wasn’t even aware that in an adjoining room there were people eating late lunch. And that’s where my pizza was made, I should have asked his name because it was phenomenal. Especially if you love a lot of taste without the heaviness. Much smaller then Romas in Maine and my other figs in BUFFALOVE , also much thinner crust but not cracker/y! Just the right texture so if you wanted, you could even fold it . Good sign. I love my goat cheese and thankfully they didn’t overdo the mozzarella. Perfect. And not fig jam but real pieces of tender juicy figs. Of course very good balsamic glaze. The prosciutto was perfect for me; very thin and some even had a bit of bacony crunch. Yummy!! Oh forgot; no minced garlic but a garlic oil. Good touch. I had one fresh warm slice, 3 not heated up ( the arugula). I’m not sure about the next 3. Tonight!! Looking forward to it. I was thinking about the raspberry cheesecake bites but the pizza was ready before I ordered it so I saved the calories. I am looking forward to coming back many more times. I’ll force myself to try other things! Actually meeting family there next weekend from Rochester. I promised them they would love it. PS They opened with the Pandemic so let’s make sure this great spot remains successful. They deserve it. Great choices regarding what atmosphere you’d like to eat in too! NYC style. Roma’s, Roman’s !!

What a beautiful restaurant. The flooring, the walls, the bar, and on to the dining tables . . everything was clean, well lit, and quite inviting. Our server, Casey, was an absolute charm; right there and ready to bring drinks, take orders, answer questions. A perfect gentleman making our stay quite comforting. The food was absolutely delicious! We enjoyed a buffalo chicken pizza as an appetizer and it was simply perfectly cooked, edges blackened from flames but the bottom was just perfect. The antipasto serving size was large and delicious, the side filet mignon was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The chicken marsala dish was usually one where only half would be eaten, but it was so delicious the entire plate was devoured. The sausage cacciatori was declared the best ever, serving size was enough to take some home. Needless to say, the filet mignon dinner with standard sides was devoured, as well. Greatly recommend the restaurant for a great night with friends, family, or a date. Enjoy~

I drove from UB north to Batavia specifically to get a Venice Pizza . I’ve been craving it for awhile. It was a dreary rainy day today but not freezing (!) so I went between lunch and dinner and got my favorite table across from the pizza oven ( for warmth and aromas!) It was a really nice relaxing hour or so enjoying a glass of wine and 2 slices. I’ll savor the rest tonight and tomorrow. My waitress Sharrielle (?) was outstanding. And pizza man Justin 👍 **. I haven’t been since fall and I was very surprised ( and confused) when I walked in the door. There is now an Italian deli in the entry area before the dining rooms. You have to check this out. Very nice selection of goodies along with the deli meats and olives etc …….. Had to get a pic of the crew. The nicest “guys” who seem to have a real sense of pride in the restaurant . Thanks! PS They were doing a good business for an off hour.

Food was ok.. when we placed our order my husband ordered a salad with French dressing and extra dressing on the side. When our food arrived there was only 1 small cup of dressing, so he asked for the additional dressing he asked for. To which the waitress replied "how about you start eating and I'll see how you are doing with your salad in a bit" and walked away. So in essence she told my husband how he is going to eat the food he specifically asked to be a particular way (whether a lot of dressing is her way or not) and assumed we would be charged accordingly. So we didn't want anything free.. after 9 minutes she returned (we were through more than half of our meals. His salad was dry to his taste. My sandwich was soggy. But we ate and awaited her return. By which we asked to speak with the manager. The manager came over (who is also a waitress) we asked if it's customary for the waitress to tell a customer how he will eat his meal and how much dressing and such he can have for his salad. She responded that no, they don't and she is sorry. One would think the waitress would then come and apologize for her service... but she didn't. Simply...
