Despina's Mediterranean Taste — Restaurant in City of Binghamton

Today when going in, to pick up my order, the older lady working the kitchen was being beyond nasty to the young man working register and communicating the orders to her. He was clear and concise and was being told to "shut up" and that he "never told me that" when he had repeated himself upwards of three times about the order in question. I have never seen such disrespectful treatment in service even being someone who's worked service for quite a while. He deserves better treatment, and I will never be going back to support someone who disrespects her staff like that openly in front of customers. Props to him for keeping his composure and not just walking out on her after how he was treated. It was truly disappointing...

This is the most consistently perfect quality 'fast food' (order from counter, then your food is prepared fresh) I've ever had! I've been there about 10 times and the gyro has been perfect every single time! Somehow, their pita bread tastes like it was just made each time I get it!

High prices ($12 - $13 for an incredible gyro & baby salad, no drink) were easier to pay when Despina's was on Hawley Street. That was a beautiful restaurant! Now they moved to Main St (nice clean place but smaller and more 'historical' interior) to a place that looks like it's about half the rent, but same high prices came with them.

The food is WELL worth the 'high' price. It just means I go there a few times per year instead of a few...

I love this place! Excellent, counter service, food. Great, friendly service. A very nice design inside. Not sure what they do to the pita bread before serving but I've had about 7 gyros here and each time the pita has been better than any I've ever had elsewhere! A bit on the pricey side. Gyro and a Greek salad (with add-on potato salad burried under salad) including tax is $13 (even with no drink); and that is a "special". The only non-wonderful thing about this place is that they supply music to the large room from the default speaker in a single tv.
