0 STARS! RUDE STAFF AND EXTREMELY LONG WAIT! My family has been going to Pudgies since I was a child and have always had great experiences there. However for the last year or so this place has gone down hill. I didn't give them a bad review after my first bad experience because I understand that people have bad days and we have always had such a good experience there but now that it is repeatedly happening I thought I should share my experience.
In May I had my sons 9th birthday party and asked to have it delivered to the party location at a certain time. It was late. They brought the pizza (3 Sheet pizzas and paid approximately $90) and left it on the table in the party room. We got the 20+ nine year olds settled in and started serving the pizza. We got to the 3rd sheet pizza and it was completely burnt. The cheese and toppings were black and the bottom was black. I had my husband call and tell them and they said it would be at least 40 min till they could get a replacement there which wouldn't be an option since the party ended in 30 min. So my husband said we would bring the pizza back to get a refund on our way home. They said that if we stopped back they would give us $10 but they don't do refunds. We paid over $30 for this pizza (it had 2 toppings) yet they were only going to give me $10 back. I asked to speak to a manager and after discussing the issue for 20 min she offered that I would have a credit on my account for a free CHEESE sheet pizza (mind you we had 2 topping that cost an extra $10) to use in the future.
Once a month my family of 28 people do birthdays for that month and we order 3 party packs (over $120 every time). For the last 6 months or so we would be told 30 min or 40 min and every time we go to pick it up you wait at least another 30 min waiting in line. The last time I was there the line was out the door. Two people in front of me ordered subs at the register. The ONE person waiting on customers left the register and went to make the subs as these people were eating in the establishment. I stood there for over 15 min as countless people walked by and never once acknowledged me. The guy behind me ended up complaining as the line was going out the door and some staff were just standing around. Not one apology for the wait.
Then yesterday... I had a surprise party for my 13 year old. I called at 11am and asked to have 4 sheet pizzas delivered to the place I was having the party at 1:00. They said no problem. Then mentioned that I had a credit for a cheese sheet as we had a burnt pizza delivered in the past. The male that was taking the ordered then put me on hold. He came back and with an attitude informed me that they could deliver the 3 sheet pizzas but someone would have to pick up the "free pizza". I said that was not possible as it was a surprise party and I wouldn't be able to leave and get it and asked if there was a manager I could please speak with as I have been a loyal customer for many years. I was told he was a manager and that there was no way it could be delivered. I said ok I will just ask a relative to pick them up for me. As a business owner myself I realized if I was the owner I would like to know if one of my staff members were being rude so I asked if I could speak to the owner. I was told no that he was a manager once again. I mentioned to the young man that he had poor customer service and that it was a shame that my family that has spent over $120 there every month for 20+ years would have to get our orders from another business in the future due to the lack of respect for customers and his response was, "ok sounds good!" After I got off the phone I called Pontillo's in Cortland. The person answering the phone was extremely nice and the delivery man was on time and walked in with a smile. The same pizza was $20 cheaper than Pudgies and was absolutely delicious! When I called back to Pudgies to cancel my order the older woman that answered, which I believe is the owner, never asked why I was canceling or anything just said ok and had a...
Read moreOrdered a party pack spent $70+ to get a pizza that was tossed into the box so much the cheese slid off most the pie the manager Shaun(maybe misspelled) could've cared less. He threw gloves on tried to move the slices around that were kinda stuck to the box offered a refund not even a remake but kids wanted pudgies....he told me it was a nice pizza laughed and joked with another customer as I was leaving and didn't bother to show any care about the fact the food was a mess. I used to like pudgies now I'll drive to ithaca before I go back to Cortland the only time I'll be back or call is to try to fix this issue tomorrow
After calling this morning it appears the guy who could've cared less and laughed at the situation with the other customer was actually the OWNER....unbelievable not only will nothing be done but this jerkoff I'd the owner wow good way to show appreciation for years of business throwing it away like the pizza the kids ate 6 slices of cuz it was a wreck thanks again pudgies store owner Shawn Shaun however you spell it lost business but who cares about that...
Read moreIm so over this place. They have gone from great to garbage. They used to be my #1 place for takeout/delivery during the pandemic and had the best wings in the area by far. This time around my wings weren't even crispy they were slimy, like raw rubbery chicken skin covered in sauce and yes, let's address the sauce. I only ever order buffalo or barbecue sauce, what the hell was this abomination of a secret sauce covering my wings this time?? Buffacue? Barfallo? Im not quite sure who's tampering with the sauce but just don't. Now to online ordering....I get it that this is a small town and nobody want yo spend a dime to improve websites and marketing but this website is way outdated and what is the point of online/contactless ordering if you still expect me to use your community contamination pen and sign the receipt?? That's the whole point of online ordering is to eliminate the hassle....and they ask for your card/id if you pickup in the drive thru. And PLEASE stop touching the tops of the cups with no gloves on....gross. Use gloves and hold the cup from the bottom...
