Came back April 2024, and want to add to my original review.
Busy Friday evening. The hostess, not that friendly. However, the wait staff, definitely friendlier than the “Karen” who we had as a server prior to this visit. One of the two managers even came around and asked how things were. I guess things weren’t going well?
The food was better all around this time too. The price fixed menu is definitely worth it. The manager told us they run it during the off season, and we were there for the last night. Didn’t even know it.
We ordered the salmon, chicken parm, mozzarella sticks, wings, churros, brownie, house white wine and a beer on tap. It was delicious and, like I said, worth it. Things may have turned around here, and we are considering coming back!

After coming to this establishment twice, I really wanted to give this place a better rating. I did. I tried not to have expectations coming into this place, but each time I left confused. I’ll explain why, you have this amazing and beautiful place, decent drinks, BUT have a rude waitress and disappointing food.
BOTH times we have eaten here, as a group of two and a group of five, we had the same waitress. She seems to hate her life and where she words. Rude and comes off unfriendly. I just want to say her name is “Karen” because her name at this point wouldn’t change my outlook of her. And it shouldn’t matter what time my party arrived, either middle of dinner service or first thing on a Saturday opening. Get an attitude check or maybe offer your staff therapy to have a better attitude.
Food wise? Again, I was hoping for something at least good or better than average. My partner, friends and I enjoyed the fried pickles and pretzel app. No problem there. But then my chicken wrap and my friend chicken wrap fell short of hitting the point. Ever hear of prep timing? The wraps seemed to have been the first thing prepared and after it was cut in half, it had sit out for a while. The open areas of the wrap that it was cut had gotten to that dried out state where it’s been sitting out for a while. Also, the wraps (one grilled chicken wrap and the other a Caesar wrap) were dry. I’m not looking for the wrap to be drowning in a condiment, but it shouldn’t require a sip of water to wet my palette. I just took it home and added my own dressing to get it down later.
And the first time I visited, I ordered the steak sandwich. There was no cheese, it was dry, and the bread was toasted. It wasn’t garlic bread as described in the menu.
Why didn’t I ask for something else or that it wasn’t great? Because the waitress didn’t seem friendly enough to even say anything. Also, she didn’t even comment about food untouched or barely eaten. And when asked for something extra, she looked peeved. Maybe get a new job?
But the consensus stated the ribs were great, the steak was cooked well. Get the fish and chips. The truffle fries were great.
After going to multiple breweries, such as Captain Lawrence up in Westchester, not sure I would come back or recommend...
Read moreNEW LOCATION Their new location looks great & has a ton of potential! We went there on Sunday around 2PM opening weekend (so we expected a crowd), however… 1-We had a reservation, when we arrived there was no seating inside (2 parties were going on & there were probably about 15+ empty tables at the time), it was a nice day, but there were no shaded tables & we have a 2.5 year old son so being in the sun for for a long time was an immediate strike 1… 2-They we’re busy, so I didn’t mind that the server did not come to us immediately, took about 10 min for her to come over. I had to look up the beer list bc it wasn’t printed, and it took almost 20 min from the time we ordered until we got our first beers (the sangria my wife ordered came about 10 min later). It’s a BREWERY, beer should take 3-5 min MAX even when it’s busy, totally unacceptable. 3-When the waitress finally brought over the sangria, one of the wine glasses fell off the tray & broke on the table… glass was mostly on a napkin luckily, nobody was injured, but some glass pieces went into our water glasses and my 2/3 of a beer… she did not apologize, and it took another 20 min for the manager to come over and get us new water glasses and we had already ordered a 2nd round of beers, but she did not replace the beer that was mostly full. I don’t mind when accidents happen, but she did nothing to rectify the situation, she should have gotten a new glass for my step mom immediately and a replacement beer for me (that would have been an appropriate response in my mind)… strike 2 4-The food came out relatively quickly, and was very good… this is the ONLY reason I’m not leaving a 1 star review! 5-The food prices are INSANE! While the burger was excellent and a good size, it was not worth $28! The strip steak dinner is $60! This is a brewery, not a 5 star restaurant… Overall, it was a terrible hour and a half experience, sitting in the hot sun with my son (who luckily was behaving), I had only 1 beer during that time where I would have expected to have 3 easily. There was NO announcement on social media that the new location was open, so we didn’t even know it had moved until my step mom called them & luckily got us a reservation… I know it’s only their opening weekend, and I would be willing to give it another shot once they get more settled, but if you can’t staff all your tables, you shouldn’t be seating customers… I will miss their original location, it was laid back, relaxed and a fun place to go, and it’s sad that it has turned into an overpriced restaurant that happens to have a brewery… I hope they find...
Read moreNOT DOG FRIENDLY. My friend recommended we visit the Brewery after taking a beautiful walk around the Harbor Landing property. All three of us brought our dogs to the brewery once we finished our walk. Our dogs are all under a year of age so we are still trying to get them acclimated out in public and were excited to try Garvies Point Brewery for the first time. Once entering the brewery, we were immediately told by the hostess that dog were NOT allowed inside the brewery and we were requested to sit outside either on the perimeter of the brewery or in the designated parking lot seating.
This concept became very difficult for us as guests with dogs because the brewery only offers a QR code at each table for food. SO if you plan on coming here for just beer, you have the difficult task of figuring out what to do with your dog so you can order a beer inside WITHOUT your dog entering the bar. Not to mention, if you plan on using the bathroom which is located, you guessed it, inside.
The real issue came with the lack of comfortability the manager made us feel during our stay. We had the pleasure of dealing with Manager Joey who repeatedly came over to our table to remind us that the dogs were not welcomed inside the brewery and even went as far as to ask the dogs to stop barking due to the fact it would disrupt the dinner service. (keep in mind, we were located on the outside perimeter of the brewery where it is high traffic of dogs walking by and in this particular moment dogs passing by started to bark at our dogs which made our dogs very excited) I can confidently say that Manager Joey made us feel like we were not welcomed with our dogs and went out of his was to speak to the majority of the tables with dogs about their pet. It got to the point where we ordered our food, received it and immediately asked for it to be packed up to go because we did not feel welcomed at this establishment.
I am not sure why they are labeled as pet friendly when they are clearly not. If you are a pet owner looking for a laid back brewery experience with your dog, this is not the place as they are more concerned with making this brewery a restaurant and cater more to the guests...
