Cool when they're open, and the beer is solid, but they should update their hours instead of closing an hour early on a regular basis.
Ordered a beer at 6:48 on a Tuesday with posted hours saying they're open until 8, which was perfect since I was waiting on my wife to arrive at the train station at 8, but not until after pouring my beer did the person behind the bar inform me that the whole place would be closing in 10 minutes. At that point I'm clearly an inconvenience, so I paid my tab, housed my beer and left.
A few weeks prior I tried to stop in around 7:20, but the place was fully dark. The weather was bad that night, so I chalked it up to that and didn't think twice about trying again on a nicer evening. The result of my return visit this evening is that I now have not reason to give them another shot.
If you go, maybe call ahead and make sure they're actually going to be open because their website, Google listing, and posted hours on the door are clearly not reliable sources of...
Read moreWe went to taste the local beer and we shared 3 flights, trying 12 varieties. Total cost $30. The beers were fantastic, only one we weren't fond of. The most unique on the menu was called Hot as a Cucumba, featuring jalapeno, cucumber and lime. It had a refreshing taste, with the heat not on the tongue but in the back of the throat, making it pleasant to drink but still delivering on the heat I love. The Ropewalk Blond was my surprising favorite of the day. I am not a fan of IPA in general, but this one was delicious without the bitter bite usually found in IPA varieties, making it the first IPA I've ever really liked. My usual taste is dark, malty beers. I loved the Tainted Senorita, their award winning coffee stout, as well as Firkin Mirkin. The others not mentioned here were all very tasty. There was also a remarkable light fixture, which I'm told the owners designed and constructed. Very nice place, located in...
Read moreThe Brewery has been open and stayed open while they moved their tasting room to connect with the brewery site as a way to encourage visitors to engage in the free tours and tastings. New tasting room opens Spring 2017. All the beer names are fantastic and represent the old Hudson history (in response to previous reviewer about names don't make sense?) Huge selection of beers from Browns, Red Ales, Kolsch and IPA's. First tasting room was always busy and quickly ran out of room (and sometimes glasses) which is a wonderful blessing to have as a new business. One of the many reasons they quickly jumped on the new space and closed (only the tasting room)for the winter to serve the masses better. Cheers guys! Good beer is ALL...
