The Real Deal 12401The Real Deal 12401
So I am revising my review on this establishment. I have been coming to the stadium diner for over 40 years. My phone is memories we're coming here with my parents and my father was there pretty much regularly. The stadium dinner has always been like family to me. On Saturday October 15th my husband and I got to enjoy a lovely dinner for 2 by ourselves with no children and we chose to go to the diner because I just going to make up my mind on what I wanted for dinner. I believe I had the brazed short ribs and my husband he enjoyed his philly cheese steak wrap. Both entries were absolutely delicious we had fantastic service As always from Izzy. The soup that I chose was Lentil it was delicious. I had an absolutely delicious salad. And the potato chips that my husband ordered with his rap rap were housemaid chips and they were delicious as well. Then again on October 22nd I went to the diner for breakfast with the entire family we were getting ready to go pumpkin picking and get things squared away for Halloween so we chose the diner for breakfast that morning. The girls both enjoyed a delicious pancake and aside a bacon I had a spinach and feta omelet which was delicious and my husband's breakfast was also fantastic he said the home fries were well cooked there were no onions in my home fries which is one of the things I cannot stand is hanging in my home fries and my waitress made sure that there were no onions in my home fries. Although When I came in I did let my posts know that sometimes I can be a little bit picky and I needed to have a waitress that was a little bit patient and I did notice that the waitress on that day and I don't know what her name was roll her eyes when the hostess let her know that I'm a little bit picky but but otherwise it was a very nice experience the server was very polite and I appreciate her taking the patience and time to make sure that the order was correct. My server I guess I don't know what her name was. All in all I have to say thank you very much for 2 fantastic experiences. And 2 completely delicious meals dinner and then breakfast not only that but their soups are housemaid and house made and they are totally scrumptious. We will definitely be coming back again. All in all I give both experiences a 5 star rating and since I can't do 2 separate reviews I decided to include both experiences in the same review. Thank You for reading my review The Real Deal 12401

Had a perfectly fine meal in this long-standing institution in Kingston. Met a friend here. One of us was in a breakfast mood the other for lunch. Both were easily accommodated as could dinner be accommodated if you were in that mood. Fairly standard Diner menu with a large selection of egg dishes for breakfast sandwiches wraps, Panini, etc. for lunch And salads had a huge selection as well as Italian dishes, broiled fish, meat, selections, etc. Their soups change every day. We sat in a booth near the window and it was perfectly comfortable. Companion had eggs Florentine, which was pretty much eggs Benedict with spinach. Came with a pile of home fries. He was happy. I had one of my favorites, the happy waitress sandwich which if you’re not familiar as an open faced grilled cheese, normally served with tomato and bacon on white bread. I modified it to use rye bread and no bacon. I also got an order of coleslaw rather than the included fries. It’s an impossible dish to ruin as all it takes is melting the cheese on top of the bread. If you look at the picture, I was a bit disappointed that the bread was not covered by the cheese, however, in a very pleasant conversation with the owner on my way out, she pointed out that rye bread is a lot bigger than the white bread they usually serve it on. She had a point. The coleslaw was amazing. Finely shredded with just the right amount of mayonnaise and sugar. The owner told me they get a huge amount of takeout business for the coleslaw and I’m not surprised. The service was unfortunately not great. It was efficient, but the waitress was not at all friendly. An attempt to make a joke, or even comment on her love is greater than hate T-shirt did not evoke a response. Thank youse did not get your welcome in return. It was actually the bus boy that came over and asked me if I would like a glass of water, never offered by the waitress. A perfectly fine Diner and when in Kingston, I would certainly return. Next time might try the desserts.

Now HOLD ON A MINUTE !!! This restaurant is amazing. Classical diner menu offering multiple options. The place is nice and clean. The staff is very polite and makes you feel welcome. I tried the meat loaf. Comes with 2 sides. I got 3 thicks slices of meat loaf and ton of potatoes and a side of coleslaw for $15.95… But wait you get a generous portion of soup of your choice (i had cream of aspargus) PLUS a good size salad. Ended up taking to go half my main dish. The meat loaf was well seasoned and moist on the inside. Sliky mashed potatoes and good gravy. We were just passing trough on our way back home but this might become our stop when we travel up and down I-87. Congrats to the owners and staff on the whole business. My only constructive advice would be to have your light bulbs in the same warmth (3000k) as some are probably 4000-4500k and stand out in the moody decor. Keep up the good work :) !

There is a lot of stuff this place does right. Friendly, attentive staff. Generally very clean. Bathroom was also very clean. only thing was my menu was pretty sticky. Standard diner prices. Good deals on dinner speacials. Most specials come with soup, salad, entree with sides, and dessert. They range from about$12-$20. I got the roast pork loin special and my girlfriend ordered the manicotti special. For soup, we both ordered chicken orzo and it was supreme. Very delicious. Salads were pretty ok. Average. My pork was served over some stuffing and it was all topped with gravy. I got broccoli and a baked potato on the side. The pork tasted ok but was very dry. When will people learn it's ok to leave a bit of pink in pork? It's not dangerous. Anyway, the stuffing and gravy we're hideous in both taste an appearance. The stuffing was bland and wet, yet somehow very chewy. The gravy... oh the gravy... visually, it was comparable to the liquid in a can of wet dog food. Tastewise, bland and pasty. Gluey even. It also shined in a really unnatural looking way. Not a shine where a gravy or sauce is finished beautifully, emulsified with butter. This was shining like a piece of plastic. The manicotti was odd. It was prepared like you'd usually find a baked ziti not manicotti. But she said it tasted good and didn't seem to mind. For dessert I had rice pudding and she had strawbery ice cream. Both topped with whipped cream. Ice cream was good. That rice pudding though.. wow it was so amazing. Simple, not too sweet, delicious and comforting. Lastly, the coffee was very good! I wanted to rate it higher, but based on my entree, I just can't do more than 3 stars. Maybe I should have ordered a simpler dish. The homemade Nutella stuffed french toast was my second choice. It's not likely I'll be back soon because there are better diners closer to...
