very cool space with lots of variety which is why I was excited to offer a few collectables to consignment. After a certain time if the items that haven't sold are available to pick up. My due date for pick occurred during lockdown--when like literally everything shut down. As things started to reopen I was in contact about retrieving my stuff, and apparently this business opened up well before most of the world did. Guess I was supposed to know that, because I guess as loved ones were dying, I was supposed to be checking their website everyday to see if they opened?? They refused to give me my item back and or the proper sale percentage of the item. They were pretty dodgy about whether the item sold or not. I was very much in communication and it was clear I was holding on the line so to speak expecting more information as to when they would reopen. Got an email after the fact that "oh we opened on blah blah, you never picked up therefore you "donated" the items. I was offered $20 for the "misunderstanding". No misunderstanding, you took advantage of the situation. A proper business would have emailed consigners with very specific information about re-opening protocols during the world turning upside down time. People had varying degrees of comfort about being out and about for a long time...and still do. That along with the financial upheaval that most people faced during this time apparently was not something this business considered.. Absorbing items during...
Read moreMy friends and I really enjoyed coming here for the first time. It's way larger than you expect it to be, it seems to just keep going. Prices were typically higher, with a few cheap or at least reasonable priced things here and there. Like most collectors, I'm knowledgeable about the things I collect. While here I spotted a few different things I collect and found that generally the prices leaned on the delusional side, so I didn't get any of them. One of the cheap things I collect are swizzle sticks, I found a pack of three super generic, scratched and dirty common ones for $8, I could have died laughing, even really cool, highly sought after one's don't cost that much. The few items I did pick up were reasonable in price, but had all the other things I found been priced according to their actual worth, I would have happily spent more money. I just couldn't justify over paying for something I could get online and still pay less even with shipping. I will still come back again, I feel like this place is so large that it makes it worth coming just to hopefully score some good finds! And for people willing to pay more for the immediate satisfaction, there is just so much...
Read moreKingston Consignment has been a cherished part of my life for many years. My father often shopped here, always speaking highly of the incredible finds and the friendly atmosphere. When he passed away, the team at Kingston Consignment was incredibly supportive, helping me sort through his possessions with care and understanding. Even years later, I remain a dedicated customer, continually impressed by their diverse selection and the warm, welcoming environment.
Craig, in particular, has always been so exceptionally kind and helpful. His prices accommodate all budgets, making it easy to find something special without breaking the bank. Kingston Consignment is not just a fantastic store; it's a community of wonderful people who truly care about their customers. I can't recommend it...
