Chalanas Brazilian BBQ Buffet — Restaurant in City of Mount Vernon

I am giving it 1 star with no ratings to the food and atmosphere. I did not sit down to enjoy the atmosphere because what I saw online and what the guy at the bar told me are two different things. You simply cannot show a photo form years ago of $10.99 for mixed BBQ and buffet and $14.99 for just BBQ only to tell me after I drove all the way that it is $24.99 and then say there is no more mixed price. Covid is over so no more using that as an excuse. You are keeping old photos and photos of price to get people to come and when they are here the emotions take over so people don't leave. Please update your website pricing before more people get upset with you. We are in the internet age not 1983.

A simple solution to handle last night's case is to honor what I saw online as a one time exception and then update information online whether it is to delete that photo or replace it with updated pricing. Not have someone who can only answer in forms of "Yes, No, or Fine". This is beyond embarrassing. If I saw online $6.99, $10.99, and $14.99 and got there and heard $8.99, 12.99, and $17.99 then I would have sat down, ate, and still gave you a 5 star review while understanding the photo is 6 years ago. The truth is nothing doubles what it was then unless you messed up so badly that you lost half...

BRAZIL 🇧🇷 Eat the World NYC review: The state of Minas Gerais is the original home to many of the folks who have come to make Mount Vernon their home, starting back in the 1980's. Nowadays, churrascarias both Brazilian and Portuguese can be found near the center of this small city just north of the Bronx, along with bakeries, butchers, and other businesses catering to what is said to be more than one in every ten people in Mount Vernon.

Having walked through the area on a couple occasions but never eaten, recently an opportunity finally presented itself at Chalanas, a casual churrascaria that is a good primer to town. While many churrascarias will charge one price and allow unlimited dining, some ask diners to make plates for themselves, weigh everything, and pay up front like they do here. For people who never quite feel that they can take full advantage of an all-you-can-eat rodizio situation, this is preferable and also doubles as a way to limit your indulgence knowing that every extra cut of picanha or spoon of beans...

Terrible experience. Ordered a small portion of the skirt steak and 1 brazilian sausage. Proceeded to the buffet to add a few more things to my plate. A young lightskinned short haired male told me the total was $36!!!! I asked him why was my bill so high. He stated because i ordered the skirt steak, and the skirt steak is more expensive per pound. I told him that i have a small portion of skirt steak and why was he applying the price of the skirt steak to my entire plate. He said because you put everything it together (was an honest mistake). Instead of doing the right thing and weighing the skirt steak separately he gave me an attitude. I told him leave the bill as is but i will never come back to this place because of him. USA Brazilian on Gramatan avenue is way better and they treat you decent...
