Sadly to say the North End Tavern is the pits and the owner Frank doesn’t seems to care. I have been to North End Tavern a few times twice ordering a medium burger and both times it was served to me well done. My family and I went back to the restaurant on Sunday, Father’s Day and gave it another try figuring that the last experience was a fluke. I proceeded to order a medium burger again. Once again it was served well done. I ask our server for it to be re cooked. When it came back from being re cooked, guess what? It was once again served well done.
I called Frank the owner the next day to complain about our experience his restaurant and his answer was “I sell 300 burgers a week and no one else complains and maybe his restaurant wasn’t for me”. He then proceed to say “sarcastically” we comped you on the bill, what else would like me to do”. Frank, I have news for you, I didn’t t want or need a free meal. What I wanted was a good meal cooked the way I asked for it. Frank, what I want you also to do is not be nasty when someone takes time to call to complain about your restaurant and say I am so sorry that you had a bad experience and not be abrupt and uncaring about it. I find it a bit funny though another patron near me also retuned their burger because it was well done and did not reorder another one. Frank are you starting to see a trend? One of your staff also said they get a lot of complaints about your burgers blaming the mix of meats used in the burger. I think that was one of the most ridicules things I ever heard blaming the mix of meat. A burger cooked to 165 degrees is medium anything past is well done no matter what meat you cook.
In addition, it turns out our server was Franks daughter who was equally rude. I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. When I received the check, she did nothing to make the situation right. I asked if there was a Manger or the Chef was available to speak to. She preceded say “the Chef or and Manager were not at the restaurant only the Sous Chef was at the restaurant and cooking that day. Finally, our server relented and gave me Franks number and proceeded to say” he is my Farther and is only one of many partners and is not going to answer his phone anyway. The only person who seemed to care was the bartender who tried to smooth things over, too little too late.
I guess this is a case of a restaurant owner who doesn’t care about his patrons returning and looking to just make...
Read moreI went for an afternoon lunch … wanted to try a new restaurant in westchester. Going here was a huge mistake , I order the philly cheesesteak egg rolls and a sangria to start —- egg rolls has absolutely no seasoning — sangria was okay like a 6/10 — I told my waitress I’m not going to send back because I don’t do that but I told her my opinion and she said she will let the cook/manager know— so I ordered wings and fries after asking her what does she suggest and she couldn’t give me a suggestion — I should of stopped there. The wings and “truffle” fries come and I just was over it. The fries were literal crisps with oil and the wings were literally a 4/10 —- I ate a few wings because I was just over it at this point and I told my waitress that I ate none of the fries and explained why and I asked her to ask her manager to remove from my bill —- I would of left it alone if my whole experience wasn’t terrible but I was OVER IT. The bill comes and I’m still charged for the fries so I ask the waitress did she tell her manager and she goes yes I did… I call the manager over and I explain to him my issue with the fries and he says “no I can’t remove it because those are the fries , they ate them (pointing to people behind me) , he ate them” basically saying all these people ate the terrible fries… I say back to him “well I’m speaking on MY experience these fries were absolutely terrible and I would like to not be charged for something that I did not eat “ he rolls his eyes and goes okay fine and brings a whole different bill.
