Quaker Ridge Bagels — Restaurant in City of New Rochelle

Ok I’m not the type to write reviews but it has to be said. They have a decent at best bagel besides that this place is a disaster. First of all, the place is disgusting inside. Dirty and smelly. I understand they sell lox and such but the bagel store shouldn’t smell like the fish market. The amount of flies in this place is also out of control. Looks like it hasn’t been cleaned since they opened. Forgot what I’m about to say. Just the filth of this place should make you walk out. Second, everything hot they serve is MICROWAVED. The cold food (cream cheese) isn’t good it doesn’t taste fresh like a bagel store should but the hot food is the real kicker. The eggs, bacon, and sausage is all microwaved. The food was inedible and on top of that expensive. They have some nerve with these prices for microwave food. I’m sorry but if I wanted a microwaved egg sandwich I would’ve stayed home and popped a frozen Jimmy Dean in. Last but definitely not least, the customer service. I don’t know who hired the employees in this place, but the service industry is not for them. They’re all rude and so out of place. This bagel shop replaces the original H & R Bialy Bagels and Deli, or what used to have the code name Quaker Ridge Bagels, but is unfortunately very much inferior.

The bagels are bad. What was god-like bagels previously has been replaced with some of the worst bagels I've ever eaten. The bagels taste undercooked. They are flavorless and very pale in color. They also lack toppings if you want an onion, everything, etc.

I don't know for certain if they're undercooked but they certainly taste it. Maybe they're not boiled first. Maybe the dough recipe is just bad but regardless the bagels are not good, especially compared to the old store.

They definitely didn't keep the recipe of the old owner. It appears the classic old oven and other appliances have been replaced.

I've bought from here 5 different times over the past few months to see if there would be any improvement but unfortunately there has been none.

This place is a very last resort. The staff is flat out rude and spiteful. I asked for a bagel with a "little bit of cream cheese" what I received was a bagel with an overwhelming amount of cream cheese. I came back asked them to make me another bagel, again with a little bit of cream cheese, so to be spiteful the very rude server gave me a bagel 99% dry with a penny sized area having cream cheese.
